SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL, 17, APRIL 2022.

Beach Buoy woke at 4-45 a.m.
By 5-28 a.m. Beach Buoy and Another Dog were at the the beach car park.
Beach Buoy faffed for England.
A large campervan was parked diagonally across three parking bays.
It looked as if they had stayed overnight?

It was 5-44 by the time Beach Buoy and Another Dog were walking the sands.
There was a slight breeze from the south west.

The tide was well in.
The sea was calm.
They headed south.
The sky was pale grey but the pre-sunrise glowed began to show.

It was 5-55 a.m. when the sun looked over the horizon.

As it sometimes can do, the sun began. To slip behind cloud before it had fully left a life at sea behind.
The Skylarks piped the sun aboard.
The Sea Serpent twisted to welcome the day.

They continued south.

A number of large driftwood pieces had began to gather at one particular spot on the dune edge.
It was looking like a bit of an elephant graveyard; trunks everywhere.

Beach Buoy gathered some suitable stones as he and Another Dog headed for Stubborn Dog Stack.

It was 6-36 a.m. when they reached the stack.

Others had been, adding more stones since their most recent visit.
Beach Buoy placed the stones onto the stack.

" Morning Mate."
He patted
THE
stone.
He photographed the latest additions.

Beach Buoy photographed the stack.
Two young ladies that had been walking south on the beach decided to sit on the beach just below the stack.
It looked a bit odd an old man up in the dunes behind them talking photographs.
"See you mate."
Beach Buoy exited stage left.
He wanted them to enjoy their beach in peace.

He headed down to the beach before heading north.

"Don't go."
said The Sea Serpent.

Reluctantly they left their good friend behind a little earlier than they had planned.

The 7 a.m. club headed south.
"Morning."
"Morning."
Mari the big friendly poodle said hi.
That's her in the photograph above.

As they left the beach, an ex-workmate was leaving the dunes.
They exchanged distant waves.

They reached the van much earlier than they would have wanted.
It was so early that Mr Gunn/Nunn and Alfie  had just arrived along with the very very wet retriever and its owner.
At the time of arrival the dig was very very dry.

They sat in the van.
Spotty toaster and the kettle went onto hob.

Spotty brown toast with sourdough.
Kettle hot coffee.

Thermal mugs of coffee have their place but a cup of kettle hot coffee is best.

An imagined Post Card from Seaton Carew.

Having a lovely time.
Wish you were here.
Really am having a whale of a time on my holiday.
It's going to be very busy here today.
It's a bank holiday weekend
