Sunday 31 March 2024

SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL. 31, MARCH 2024.

Easter Sunday.
Beach Buoy woke at 5-08.
The clocks had gone forward during the night.
Sunrises would be back in the sixes for a while.
At least the lighter nights have arrived.
He made a coffee.

They reached the beach at 6-37 a.m.
The air was chilled and almost still.

The tide was well in.

A couple were to the north.
A couple were to the south.

The northerly couple headed south.
"Morning." said Beach Buoy as they passed.
Nothing ...
Twice.

The moment of sunrise was filtered by pale low cloud.

The Sun began to clear the cloud.
A filtered phone camera didn't do the scene justice.
Maybe memory is the most accurate of all cameras?

Beach Buoy faffed on with phone camera filters...

  AN IMAGINED POST CARD.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed towards Stubborn Dog Stack.

The Sea Serpent Marker.
They took the "easy" route to the stack.
The air was full of Skylark song.

"Morning Mate."
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
 stone.

Someone had taken the levelled driftwood log.

Beach Buoy fetched the driftwood wood wedge about a metre long.
It took had gone missing.
He had found and his it for such an occasion.

With the wedge replaced, he sat to drink his coffee.

...and breathe.

.

Another Dog positioned herself so that she could see if anyone approached from the north.

Beach Buoy checked the beach below.

The Beachcombing Border Collie Couple were on the beach as was the lady who walks the length of the beach.

"See you mate."

Down the big slope.

Back to the beach.

They headed back to the van.

They paused to chat to
Team Black Ear, then Mr. Gunn/ Lunn then the 7 a.m. club.
Team Muzzled Dog passed by at a distance with distant waves exchanged.

SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL. 30,MARCH 2024.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog reached the beach at 5-30 a.m.

A Police van was parked nearby.
They had the sunrise under surveillance.
A possible repeat offender?

The tide was well in.

There was a chilly breeze from the south west.

They headed for the sea.

They headed for the sunrise.

A driftwood shark struggled in the shallows.

A man headed North with his Spaniel.
"Won't go for you mate."

Beach Buoy and Another Dog continued south as a crisp white-edged sea ran in, nearby.

The Sun rose at 5-41 a.m.

They ambled along.
No rush.
Treasure every moment.

Team Black Ear were distant but approaching dots.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed for the "easy" route.

"Morning Mate."
It was 6-10.
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.

He drank coffee on a levelled driftwood log as Skylarks sang above the stack.

The bay looked to be fairly calm although the waves did break with some force once ashore.

Coffee view.

"See you mate."
They continued south for a while.

They dropped down onto the Grey Rocks for a while.

They passed Stubborn Dog Stack once more as they headed back.
Beach Buoy added more stones.

They began a slow beach walk back.
Team Black Ear had been.amd almost gone Dots once more.
A man headed south with his German Shepherd off it's lead.
Beach Buoy went up onto a higher dune with Another Dog until they passed.

They reclaimed the water's edge.
The Beachcombing Border Collie Couple passed.

Mr.Gunn/Lunn with his excellent dog, Alfie stopped for a chat.
They went their separate ways.

The 7 a.m. club approached .
Mari, the big friendly poodle was first. She wedged her head between Beach Buoy's knees as she enjoyed a shoulder rub.
Mr. 7 a.m had not been well.
Two weeks in hospital.
"Scared the ***** out of me, thought the Grim Reaper was coming for me."

Beach Buoy wished him well.
They went their separate ways.

Beach Buoy went to look at the new Beach Hut themed toilet block.
It is under construction at the north end of the Car Park.

They had a walk along The Front.

What a deal!

SEATON SANDS. CLOUDS AND RAIN.

 Not a stack visit.

Just a chance to check on the clouds and the distant rainfall. It wasn't too long before the rain hit the beach.

The day they borrowed the Sun.

BEACH BUOY.

SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL. GOOD FRIDAY 2024.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog reached the beach at 5-48, just as the Sun was rising.

At the river mouth, two ships traded places.

A lady and her dog walked the water's edge.

To the south, sunrise seekers stood by the sea.
Once the sun was clear of the horizon, a couple that were sat on a blanket on the dune edge, headed back to their car.

The tide was a fair way in.

Beach Buoy walked southwards, up were the beach was angled.
He let the sunrise seekers have the sea.

Just ten minutes after sunrise, the beach was theirs.
The Sun rose, slowly but surely.
It reminded Beach Buoy of a hot-air balloon.

No one in sight.

Beach Buoy paused.
Wave.
Solar.
Wind.

The height of the dunes sheltered the beach from the blowy wind.
Waves weren't so lucky.
As they broke, the wind blew the spray back to the sea.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed up the long slope that lead to the "easy" route.
At the top of the slope lay a poo bag.
Beach Buoy reached into his beach bag.
Out came a stack-bound stone and a paint pen.
"All dogs have bums.
Some bums have dogs "
He placed it next to the bag.
Beach Buoy does small but regular beach cleans.
He draws the line at other people's
****.

He paused to view the beach below from the moral high ground and dune heights.

6-26.
"Morning Mate."
Beach Buoy added the three remaining stones.
He patted
THE
stone.

He sat on the levelled driftwood log.

He sat drinking coffee.
Another Dog sat nearby.

A Parcel of thirteen Oyster Catchers flew by just offshore, rising and falling with the sea.
Out in the bay, the Sea Serpent yawned as he stretched.
A distant wave was returned by Beach Buoy.

"See you mate."
They headed back.
A lady with an anxious doodle dog headed south on the "easy" route.
"Morning."
"Morning."
Beach Buoy had stood to one side to let them.pass.
They had a brief dog chat before going their own ways.

"SCUM!"
Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed back to the van.

A man sat on the dune edge as his Excited Labrador ran to and from the sea.
Each time it ran back to the sea,it sat in it.

As they drove away from The Seafront, Rita, the returned coin collected, headed for the meters.
