SEATON SANDS 31 AUG 2018.

Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog arrived at 6-55 pm .
Two women sat chatting on the low wall that edged  the South side of the Car park.
One of them had their arms folded, it reminded Beach Buoy of a Les Dawson Comedy sketch.

He headed down to the water's edge with Stubborn Dog in tow.
It was almost high tide. Beach Buoy noted for high tide it was quite low.
They headed South into the warm breeze.
A number of dogs and
people pass on the beach without a fuss.
They rested down by the Grey Rocks.
Back to the North...

Gone fishing.

SEATON SANDS 29 AUG 2018.

ARRIVED ON BEACH 7-30 P.M.
IT WAS ONE OF THOSE DAYS....

BEACH BUOY.

Tuesday 28 August 2018

SEATON SANDS 28 AUGUST 2018.

Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog set out for the Beach sometime after 7 p.m.
As they drove the short distance, Beach Buoy noticed the Sun hanging in the Sky; the colour of a perfect egg yoke.
Beach Buoy arrived in the Car park at  7-14 p.m.
As he did a Police Van drove off.
Beach Buoy could almost hear the Police message, "Call off the search, he has turned up!."
The tide was around 33% out, it was a mild but basically dull evening despite the fried egg's efforts.
There were three, dog-less couples randomly scattered on the Beach.
There wasn't many finds. There was lots of  broken large shells fooling Beach Buoy in to thinking it was Sea Pottery, only realising his error once he had picked up the pieces and turned them over.
Beach Buoy was weary, the two walked slowly to the Grey Rocks.
They didn't stop for a sit and think because Beach Buoy was so tired it would evolve into be a sit and sleep.

They ambled back.
The Sea wasn't rough but the waves were slapping down like they were playing an over enthusiastic game of snap.
Once they  had broke the waves would scatter a foamy frothing whiteness up on the Beach. The foam would bubble,
It reminded Beach Buoy of when Cola is poured too quickly into a glass.

SEATON SANDS 27 AUG 2018.

Beach Buoy and his mate Stubborn Dog pulled into the Car Park at 6-25 a.m.
They were on the Beach by 6-30.
There was a new Strand line to search, they headed South with a lovely backdrop.

There was rain out at Sea on the Horizon.
Four
Cormorants crossed the Bay, flying close to the Sea, they looked a little like two morse code Ms -- --

The Sun came out from behind one of the few Clouds in the Sky.
The Beach suddenly became a illuminated  film set.
Beach Buoy heard a voice say "And Action!"

Stubborn Dog's ... "I made you stop."- pose. Beach Buoy picked up the little Dog for a Cuddle. The Dog put a paw on Beach Buoy's cheek as if to say "Talk to the paw;, the face ain't listening.
So they sat down near the Sea Serpent for a while watching a show from the Sand Martin's; they haven't gone just yet! It was still August but Beach Buoy felt as if he was  already clinging to Summer like someone holding sand in a grasped hand; grains falling no matter how tight the grip. The little Dog slept a while using Beach Buoy's  feet as a pillow.
At 7-10 the 7 a m club appeared to the North so
Beach Buoy headed to the dunes to give them some space and have a mooch.

They eventually headed back.
Beach Buoy watched a Lone Cormorant seem to struggle take off from the Sea. It all looked a little awkward, it gave the
impression of an overloaded Sea Plane to try get into the air.
Sammy the Seal appeared just the once; heading South.....

Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog carried on North. Spots of rain fell as a Rainbow appeared over the Dunes.
It was 8-15 a.m. back at the Car as the day clouded over.
Beach Buoy heard the ghost of his dad say.
"Best part of the Day."

Sunday 26 August 2018

SEATON SANDS, SEATON CAREW, HARTLEPOOL . 26 AUGUST 2018.

Beach Buoy was stood in the Car Park, putting on his Beach Boots to the soundtrack of the Village Church Bells ringing for    6-15 p.m.
Stubborn Dog was laid on his Scottie Dog cushion in the back of the car. Then off to the Beach it was.
A couple with a teenager and Spaniel were just ahead, but then they disappeared to the Dunes, appearing in glimpses looking like silhouettes of small tree trunks as they walked the high points of the Dunes.

They reached the water's edge and headed South. The shingle looked promising for finds. It wasn't to be, any pottery was blank as was the glass too; no names, no pictures so no keepers.
Beach Buoy went off an one of his tangents, wondering if MI5 had done a sweep of the Beach?- removing all
evidence? No names to be seen.

Looks like a Brick had slipped the net.

They headed South. The tide was going out. A wet day had dried, it was overcast but mild.
Sammy Seal was spotted heading North.
Did Beach Buoy see a Flipboard and pen (Waterproof.)

Wet again today.

(Above and below)
Saw Harry the Human again today.
(They are all called that.)
He may have spotted me again?
Saw him stop and make notes.
I was on the way to the Fishy for tea.
I love when he tries to take a picture, then I dive down just in time.
While we are on the Subject of diving.. Those Terns are a blooming nuisance, coming in at all angles.
I enjoy doing my blog but will have to cut down on some of my Shoalcial Media.
Thinking of coming off Plaicebook altogether, (too many Selkies.) and maybe Crabchat too?

Sammy.

Beach Buoy came across another Brick with writing.
An important Family locally.
see link below.
PEASE - SALTBURN BY THE SEA

Beach Buoy saw the German Shepard Owner's Club heading his way.
It was odd, they were like a night version of the 6 (7) am club.
They were in hi viz clothing and walking in a line across the Beach.
Or could be a Police
search to follow on from the MI5 sweep?
after all bricks were found with names.
No it was definitely  the GSOC.
Most  dressed in that Yellow/ Light Green hi viz, but two wanted to stand out from the stand out clothing by wearing bright Orange.
They passed Beach Buoy without issue as they controlled the large Dogs.

SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL . SATURDAY 25 AUGUST 2018.

Beach Buoy woke at 5-15a.m.
He and Stubborn Dog were on the Beach for 5-50, with the hope of catching the Sunrise.
Sunrise was 5-59 today.
Before Sun up, three Border Collies appeared from the Car Park.
A large car had come into the Car Park just after Beach Buoy. Two of the dogs went for Stubborn Dog so Beach Buoy grabbed him to safety. The three Dogs surrounded Beach Buoy and then were off back to the Car Park. Their "Humans." arrived on the Beach and headed into the Dog ban area (Typical) and walked off into the distance; the man leaving a trail of smoke. " Good ."
Beach Buoy said to himself.

The Sun finally rose above some clouds on the Horizon. Nine minutes late.... The Sun illuminated a ship's arrival onto the scene; heading for the River Tees.

Once the Sun was out it seemed to turn the Sea the Colour of that Christmas wrapping paper, the blue metallic foil type.
A Seal popped up and seemed to do a double take when he saw Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog on the Beach. The Seal vanished never  to be seen again (That Morning.) Beach Buoy daydreamed that the Seal had disappeared to make notes in a book, notes for his Seal Blog......

Wet again today.
Was heading North for Breakfast
around 6-20
saw that Human with his awkward dog again being dragged along the Yellow stuff.
Felt like shouting "Get some water skies and a boat."- "Come on in." - "The water's lovely."

Two seabirds re-enacted a dogfight in the air, like the one Beach Buoy's Dad saw during World War 2 over the Sea towards Saltburn / Staithes way.

Beach Buoy dug his hands deep into his pockets and tried to enjoy the new strand line; no footprints.
The earlier dog encounter was still upsetting him.

There was a light fresh breeze and this was highlighted by a group of Seagulls that were all pointing in different directions. Some looking at the Dunes, some at Beach Buoy weighing up the risk factor and some out to Sea perhaps wondering if Sammy would mention them in his Blog. In a stronger breeze they would all face it.

Beach Buoy is glad to be a morning person...
the rock isn't by the look of it?

Beach Buoy found the most comfortable looking rock opposite the Sea Serpent  and sat to think and make notes.
Sadly the most comfortable looking rock wasn't the driest!

Stubborn lived up to expectations on the way back.
By 7-05 the 7a.m. had been spotted in the distance to the North.
Beach Buoy headed to the Car, placed his beach clean items into the recently emptied council bin on the promenade.
Watered the Dog.
Drank a coffee that he had brought in a Thermal Cup.
He sat
there  for a while people watching to the rhythmic sound of a toy solar powered Monkey on the dashboard swinging from side to side; a gift from Whitby........

Once back Beach Buoy had a clearout of his Beach Bag.

SEATON SANDS 24 AUG 2018.

Beach Buoy paid a second visit of the day to his local Beach,it's more fun than walking the dog around the block.
It was two dogs for company tonight.
They arrived at 7-15pm.
Two men in wet /dry suits and bathing caps hobbled back to the Car Park from the Sea. All of the equipment but no shoes to walk the rocky road back to the Car.

Angel Cloud...

Two fishermen stood in the Sea down near the Gare. Another went by, he was talking on his mobile phone as he travelled South, as if to join them?
Beach Buoy headed back and placed his 13 item beach clean in the promenade bin.
BEACH BUOY

SEATON SANDS 24 AUGUST 2018.

A day off!
Beach Buoy and two dogs arrived at 6-20 a.m.
It was glorious.
The Council Beach cleaning machine clattered by, as it made the Beach clean and smooth for another day of school holiday Beach fun.

Another disposable lighter.
Beach Buoy has re-posted a blogpost from 2015 about them.
It will appear in the previous blogpost to this one.
Beach Buoy headed South and noticed the 6am club a.k.a. 7am club (On a Weekend.). walking back from the Gare.
When they were close enough, Marie the Poodle ran over to see Beach Buoy as did another dog from
the group; a dog that looked like a chocolate sheep. ( A Bah of chocolate.)

They walked towards the Gare and met a Seagull called 6.

The Sun disappeared for a few seconds, behind one of only a few clouds in the sky. It changed the mood dramatically.
To the North the 6 (7) a.m. club were specks in the distance.

Then the Sun was back.
They sat on the Grey Rocks, feeling somewhat smug with themselves.
A Scotty Dog and its owner walked by.

They headed North.
He had picked a good day to be off.

The South looked nice too.
Beach Buoy looked up.
More fluffy clouds now.
He started to list the shapes he could see.
A Rabbit... losing it's head in the breeze.
A Narwhal.
A Grabbing Hand.
Mr Punch.
A Map of Britain with Scotland drifting off like the rabbit's head.
Maybe a sign of things to come?

They followed the yellow brick road.
It was Boots not Ruby Slippers today.

Beach Buoy went over to the new Beach Huts.
Building seemed to have ground to a halt recently?
He hoped they would all be given names like the ones at Blyth.
Even though he lives a short distance away he wanted to hire one to sit and think, feel smug and maybe even read a book!

He picked this one.
Possible names?
Dune.
Sun.
Lemon Top.
Or maybe just number 3
if they don't  do names.

The Council Cleaner had been busy.

Walk Over,
drink drank.
Wuff wuff wuff.

FROM OCTOBER 2015

THE CURSE OF THE DISPOSED DISPOSABLE LIGHTER.

TODAY; 24 AUGUST 2018 .I PICKED UP ANOTHER DISPOSABLE LIGHTER.
IT REMINDED ME OF A PERIOD BACK IN 2015 WHEN MANY WERE FOUND.
I HAVE RE-POSTED THE BLOG POST FROM THEN BELOW.
Over the last two days I have collected 22 disposable lighters during my beach walks around Hartlepool.
The picture above shows 11 from today around Seaton Carew.
The high number is partly due to the sea conditions of late and fully due to people just throwing them into the streets and  sea.
I wonder how many are floating around the world today?
One of the best known makes is BIC. I visited their website here
I clicked to watch the video option and the numbers are frightening.. they alone make 6 million a day.
Many other companies make them too, so what is the Grand total ?
So how may are floating around the World's Oceans?
Many I have found still have the pressured liquid gas in them.
The worrying part of it all as well as the plastic waste how much Butane is contained within the ones at sea or scattered on beaches around the world?
The link below gives some more figures and shows that Albatross have fed their chicks lighters!
I know that I have asked more questions than I have answered and lighters are just a part of the Ocean's problems.
I do what I can with a #2minutebeachclean.
So maybe we should replace the word Disposable with a word that highlights the problem all of the world's disposable items; items of many kinds and made by many companies.

SEATON SANDS 23 AUG. 2018.

Late Evening walk for Beach Buoy and two dogs.
Arrived 8-07 p.m.
The German Shepards owners club were just leaving in their hi viz jackets.
The Sun was going down and the tide was going out

Dusk fell silently.

Sea Pottery.

The Sun had gone.
The Moon illuminated the Beach.

SEATON SANDS 22 AUGUST 2018.

Beach Buoy and two dogs arrived at 7-08 p.m.
Beach Buoy chatted to a Dog walker returning to his car.
They passed comments on how muggy it was.
He said he wished he hadn't bothered wearing a coat.

Tonight it was Hartlepool's Headland that was glowing in the Evening Sun.
Over at Saltburn it looked like they had forgotten to put money in the electric meter again.

Beach Buoy headed South.
Seagulls stood
randomly on the Strand line.

The Three paused at the WW2 blocks at the Gare for a while.

There was a nice contrast of colours.

Later the Sun appeared in Dunes like a large Jaffa Orange but it gave the glow of a pink grapefruit out at Sea.

A Keeper.
