29 JULY 2024. SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL

 The air was almost still.

Beach Buoy had painted stones in his beach bag.

One for Geoff and one for Bob his dog.

When Geoff was taken ill in November, he told Beach Buoy that he would be putting stones for them up at Stubborn Dog Stack.

He was correct.

Beach Buoy wished that he had been wrong.

It was 6-08 a.m. when the set off on foot and paw.

They didn't reach the beach until 6-23.

There had been many sniff stops.

On The Esplanade, three ladies walked southwards.

A cyclist rode to the southernmost end before turning, heading back to the north.

Down on the beach, the stone-shuffling tractor went from north to south.

A milky sun shone.

Like a moth to a flame, Beach Buoy is drawn to the Tractor's tracks.

The tide was a fair way out, just beyond The Seaton Carew Wreck.

South ...

Off to see the wizard.
Beach Buoy needed courage, a heart and a brain.
Another Dog could be Toto.
Another Dog was being Another Other Dog!

Team One Black Ear passed by.
They chatted.
Apparently, The Wizard was in a good mood today.

They turned bright at the big slope.
They walked Another less-known but easier route.

More fairy lanterns.
Rain drops on Marram Grass.

The sky to the south was lovely.

"Morning Mate."
It was 7 a.m.
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
He placed Geoff's and Bob's stones in the stack.

He sat on a driftwood wedge about a metre long.
A Parcel of Oyster Catchers crossed the bay like skimmed stones.

He sipped coffee as a cream sun tried to turn gold.

The Beachcombing Border Collie Couple headed south then north.
Sand Martins swooped.

He watched the tide come in.

Team Muzzled Dog passed by on the beach below.
Distant waves were shared.

7-30.
"See you mate."
Around thirty minutes from the house but a million miles from the reality of the world.

They returned to the beach.
Shoes came off.
A paddle back to the north.

It was nice not having to dodge any incoming waves.

X over Stubborn Dog Stack.

Beach Buoy beach cleaned a disposable barbeque.

He chatted to Mick Aston Jumper.

Up on The Esplanade, another chat to
Mr Gunn/Lunn.
Excellent Dog Alfie wondered around.

BEACH BUOY.
