28 JULY 2024. SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL

Beach Buoy and Another Dog reached the sunny beach at 6-08 a.m.
The south end of the car park was closed.

A lady tiptoed through imaginary tulips as she jogged along The Esplanade.
In contrast a man crossed the car park as though he was walking in sticky mud as he talked on his phone.
Beach Buoy rested on The Esplanade Wall.
He made beach notes in his beach book.
A puzzled man walked by.
He seemed to be wondering what Beach Buoy was writing down.

The Sun was well up.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed to the beach.

Two adults and children were down by the sea.
Perhaps they had been sunrise.
It was still early.

The tide was well out
The air was still.
It was a perfect temperature.

Team one black ear caught up as they headed south.
They walked and talked until the big slope.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed up the slope.
Team one black ear continued as far south as the tide and grey rocks would allow.
They then turned back, heading northwards barefoot in the sea.

The big slope seemed to be pop marked with overnight rain.

They walked the "easy"route.

Large droplets of captured rain hung on the end of blades of Marram Grass.
They looked like magical fairy lamps or lanterns.

6-48.
"Morning Mate."
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
Beach Buoy's jeans were soaked by the damp Marram Grass.
He sat on the driftwood wedge about a metre long.

Team one black ear head back.

The Sun warmed his face.

The breeze cooled his neck.

The birds sang.
The sea lapped gently onto the beach below.
The lady who walks the full length of the beach did so.
She was already returning northwards.

A dogless man stood on the beach below, in front of Stubborn Dog Stack.
He coughed as he looked out to sea.

He headed northwards.

"See you mate."
Time to go.
He stood.
He cupped his hands, washing his face in sunlight and it's heat.
He stretched.
Ten to Two, like a catalogue clock.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed to the beach below.
They walked along the water's edge.

A Seat popped up.
It bobbed down.

Mr Gunn/ Lunn and excellent dog Alfie came along.
They chatted.

They went their separate ways.
