SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL 30, SEPT 2019.

After Sunday's soaking, Beach Buoy was determined to beat the weather.
It had been sunny.
Typically, after work it clouded over and rain looked to be on the cards?
So Beach Buoy showed his hand and headed for the beach earlier than he normally would have done.
With two Dogs and a pair of Aces in tow he reaches the Car park at 4-40pm.

There was a wind off the Sea to the east.
The tide was high and still coming in.
Thankfully a man who had arrived with a noisy dog headed for the dunes; the noise followed.

Still lots of driftwood.....

...of different types

A pair of Trunks..
A  young couple went by with their driftwood collection.

Beach Buoy went to the Grey Rocks that are opposite the Sea Serpent Marker.
It was a few minutes to high tide.
The Sea hugged the rocks with both arms, like it would never let go.

In time it would.
Everything does.
Tide and time wait for no man,

.......................................

Just part of the beach clean.
Blue sponge balls and lighters; regulars after a Stormy Sea.

They headed back along the narrow beach.
The high tide waves kissed the dune edges.
Not to be confused with a girl who was a Prefect at Beach Buoy's school
June Hedges.

An earlier and bigger high tide had flooded the Little Tern  nest site... thankfully
those birds had flown.

Full house for Beach Buoy , the walk was done in the dry.
To make it 2-1 to Beach Buoy the rain came with a diving header as they left the car park...
"Back of the Net!"

Here is a link to you tube film that Beach Buoy made a while back...
it is made of of various beach cleans done by
Beach Buoy on his local beach..
funny it makes you think... they could all still be floating around in the Sea.

BEACH BUOY

SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL. 29 SEPT 2019.

Shortly after posting the previous blog post, the rain calmed a little.
Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog dashed to the Beach.

It was so late... 8-55am.
The tide was way out.
Spits and spots of rain fell.
The whole beach was covered in driftwood.
Beach Buoy presumed that the heavy rainfall had sent many twigs and branches down the River Tees and then out into the bay?

Driftwood Creature.

The Beach looked like the aftermath of a shipwreck.

Driftwood casualty.

Lots of nurdles along the Beach.
Beach Buoy found a white bucket which he used to do his beach clean.
He attached the bucket to his beach bag.
It sounded like a drum beating with every step as it hit against Beach Buoy's leg.

Beach Buoy reached the North Gare Pier and the rain came with a vengeance.
The Wind Turbines disappeared in the gloom.
The drum began to beat a little faster as they hurried back.
Beach Buoy's Jeans turned from pale blue to dark with all of the rainfall.
Two Cormorants flew over to the dunes.
It was raining so heavily they may have thought that they were swimming, not flying.
Beach Buoy went to collect a sit-on toy motorcycle for part of his beach clean.
The rain was bouncing.
Beach Buoy noticed some beach cleaners had arrived.

It turns out it was an official beach clean.
They had a flag flying for this group...
See Link below.
Suez4ocean

Beach Buoy added the motorcycle and his white bucket of  beach trash to their stack.

The motorcycle photograph is of poor quality as it was raining so much, the mobile phone was damp; Beach Buoy was damper.

BEACH BUOY.

AM NOT ON BEACH!

Well, am not on beach.
Instead Beach Buoy is sitting at a desk.
The usually comforting sound of rain on the roof, right now is a bit of a downer.
Stubborn Dog and Beach Buoy should be out on the Beach.
In years gone by Beach Buoy would have gone.
Waterproof trousers, Waterproof Coat and back then he had a Waterproof Dog.... sort of.

Stubborn Dog doesn't 'DO' wet very well, even if he has two coats on.
It is Sunday morning now and if he was to go out in this bouncing rain, then let's think.... His ears would be dry about Tuesday.
It's odd how rarely it does rain early on in the day.
"Best part of the day." was an often used phrase when Beach Buoy would go on the Beach with his Father.

The sky has brightened ever so slightly but the sound of rain has increased.

Beach Buoy had woke a number of times during the night
3-15... rain
4-40... rain
5-35... rain
6-00... rain
It is now 7-08am ... rain.
Beach Buoy will hopefully be on the beach later today.
Now he is off to listen to some music and have another warm drink and biscuits...
Be more Hygge as the Danes say.
Hoggy would be closer to the truth as the kettle clicks on and the biscuit tin lid goes POP
Every cloud has a Silver Lining they say.

SEATON SANDS. 28 SEPT. 2019.

Beach Buoy had been at work from 7 am.
He works alongside the Tees Transporter Bridge, that crosses over to Middlesbrough.
In a previous life he spent over 11 years working alongside the bridge, but on the south side.
Now he works on the North side.
He travels home via the Tees Road.
Over the years has used various form of transport for this journey to the Tees.
Car.
Motorcycle.
Cycle.
Bus.
Van.
He used to Cycle when it was too icy for the motorcycle. Anyone who has tried to Cycle Tees Road on a dark winter morning will know how at risk you would feel.

Anyway, today he left work at 3 pm.

After a bath, he and Stubborn Dog reached the beach at
4-30 pm.

It was bright and breezy.
The tide had peaked around half an hour earlier.
Small wading birds stood at the Water's Edge; wading.

A fisherman stood nearby with an audience of two and a tripod and one rod.
He had a hopeful yellow bucket nearby.
He told the man and woman stories of the one that got away.
The woman seemed more interested than the man.
She listened intently with arms behind her back.
The man listened with arms folded.
Meanwhile the fisherman stood with his hands in his pockets.

A couple approached from the south; beachcombers.
The lady made sea shell on sea shell noises as she went by.

Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog went to the Grey Rocks and had sit and think that became a sit and nap in no time at all.
It was only the thud of the odd large wave that woke him

They did a wobbly walk from the Grey Rocks.
The fisherman was just saying farewell to another audience and was waiting arms folded with a "Next!" look about him...
It wouldn't be Beach Buoy,
Beach Buoy was a very lucky fisherman, but hadn't been for many, many, many, many years....

he had stories of his own.

They headed back in the dimming sun.

Dried seaweed glowed gold in the setting sun

SEATON SANDS, 26 SEPT. 2019.

It was 5-10 pm.
There was a Blustery Breeze from the West.
Ten minutes into the walk, the breeze became a wind.
The waves broke seven waves out.

Beach Buoy had originally thought that this was a piece of Sea Pottery.
It turned out to be a story stone.
How many stories do you see?

There was a fair bit of shingle around, shingle usually equates to finds
Beach Buoy left these pieces behind.

They passed a man who wearing three-quarter  length trousers.
All a bit Bay City Rollerish... minus the tartan.

They had a slow walk back.

Stone Bead.

Sea Pottery.

New Cups...
Tea Pottery.

SEATON SANDS 25 SEPT 2019. HARTLEPOOL

It was a Wednesday.
A Wednesday at 6-15 pm.
Someone seems to have broken the rainbow?

Another broken piece over near The River Tees.
The Beach was fairly quiet.
Two ladies with three dogs and that was about it.

We won't mention the pockets stuffed with rainbow fragments.
Oh just did...
It will end up for sale on the internet no doubt.
Maybe pass it off as Sea glass.
Maybe that is what Sea glass is?

A piece of driftwood had clambered up the beach and was asking for a helping hand for the last few feet.

Beach Buoy reflected on life as the sky reflected on the wet Beach

Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog headed south; as did the sky.
A single crow was down by the Grey Rocks.
He gave out a "Clear off!'' type call.

Two Cormorants cleared off and flew over The Dunes.
Beach Buoy turned back at The North Gare Pier.

Shifting sand exposed the entrance to Banania; the underground kingdom were they mine for yellow fruits.
Or....
A rusting pipe where people think it is ok to leave dog poo bags......
you decide.

Back to the van it was....

SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL, 24 SEPT 2019.

It had rained.
Then it rained.
Then the rain came.
Then it eased.
Beach Buoy and two dogs reached the Beach Car Park at
 6-35 pm.
The Car Park was quiet, apart from a Police presence and what looked like the aftermath of an incident.
Beach Buoy didn't stare, he just headed for Sea.
The Beach was deserted.
The tide was way out.
The vast expanse was theirs tonight.

Nobody to the North.

Nobody to the South.

The colours were pale tonight.

Sometime pale Colours are a good thing, like your favourite T-Shirt; faded but loved.

The Sea Serpent wasn't at his usual marker spot.
He will have been out fishing

A Pale Grey Sky = Pale Grey Sea.
+ 1Pale Grey Sea Serpent = Lots of Fish for tea.

A House by the Sea........

The Greyness of the Evening turned into the Darkness of night as if someone was messing around with the Contrast switch on some old Black and White Beach TV Show.

Back to the van and off.......

SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL. 23 SEPT. 2019.

It was a Monday evening.
Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog arrived at 6-10 pm on a  Mild Evening.
There was a light breeze from the South.
A couple with a push chair made their way up the access ramp, as their small child held onto her Dad whilst climbing the sloping ramp wall.
As she walked, she practised her new word.
"Sand!"

A lady with two dogs headed North.
A man with two other Dogs headed South, followed by a man with a Stubborn Dog and a blog to do.

Two Dog Man sat down at the Grey Rocks for a sit and think.
Or maybe it was  just a sly cigarette?

They reached the North Gare Pier just as Two Dog  Man stood up and left the Grey Rocks.

The Beach was almost empty, Beach Buoy felt a need to put up his hood. Not because it was cold; just for more own space.
He thought thoughts.....

The Sky is vast,
The Sea seems to on for ever,
The world is your Oyster,
Be a Pearl.

The wet sand mirrored the sky.
Its colours were fading and would soon be replaced
by a shade of Black ... called
Night Black.

Off to the van it was, as the darkness began to arrive.
Beach Buoy looked across the Bay to see The Headland Lighthouse flash a wink as it it was an old friend.
It is.
