SEATON SANDS, 15 SEPT. 2019.....

Beach Buoy woke at 5-02 am.
He sat about a bit.
They; Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog had a slow drive to the Car Park.
Council cleaning trucks had their orange lights flashing. They reflected off the fronts of the shops and amusement arcades as they cleaned The Front, like some early morning disco.
They arrived at the beach at 6-12am.
They were first into the Car Park.
Seconds later a car pulled up.
It was short short man.
He must have bought himself  new car?
Short short man lead the way South as Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog dawdled along to the Water's edge.

Three-legged dog lady cut across the beach and headed South too. Needless to say the Dog had three legs, not the lady.
They had been coming on the beach for years but it was only the second time in a few  years that Beach Buoy had spotted them.
The three-legged dog must be a canny age by now?
Isn't everyone?

Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog joined the Southern Convoy and walked with a breeze on their backs.

First beach clean find was some ghost fishing gear.
There are lots of pink fish in the North Sea, but not many ghosts
The Pink Fish are the Sea Serpent's main source of food.
Short short man had disappeared, but three-legged dog lady was now passing, going North.
"Morning." said Beach Buoy...........
Red Sea Glass,
no not glass from the Red Sea but red glass from the sea is pretty rare around here and possibly most places?.
So even though Beach Buoy has been leaving many finds lately, the Red Sea Glass Lips went into the keep pocket of his beach bag.

There was no spectacular sunrise show this morning..
It was more muffled voices, coughs and the sound of wooden chairs being dragged along the stage floor all carried out behind a safety curtain of low cloud.
A Jogger approached from the North.
Did this one have a message for Beach Buoy?
It looked like he might but then... as if the Jogger had suddenly realised he had left the piece of paper, with the message on, back in the car; he turned and headed  back.

Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog carried onto the Grey Rocks for a stand and think.
It would have been a sit and think but the tide had not long gone out, leaving the lower rocks somewhat wet.
To find a dry rock to sit on, some clambering will have had to have taken place.
Standing was fine.
It was 7-15am.
They started a slow walk back.

Up North, the 7am club were on their way.
"Morning's" were exchanged as they passed.
Stubborn Dog even got a name check from one of the club; his alias name, divulged in a passing on the promenade some weeks earlier involving dog treats!

As they headed back North the sun did brighten a little, enough to cast a shadow as it changed flavour from orange marmalade to lemon.

A piece of Sea Pottery  caught Beach Buoy's eye.
He would keep it and maybe one day even get around to drawing the
design.

A man threw stones in the sea for his retriever.
The dog had no chance.
Beach Buoy had collected an almost new, tennis type ball during the morning's beach clean.
He said " Good Morning.: and handed the man the ball for his dog.

They carried onto the Promenade and binned the remaining beach clean items.
It became quite clear that Stubborn Dog wanted to have a sit on the promenade wall and see what was going on.
He got his wish.
Silhouettes stood, and chatted at the water's edge.
Birds flew.
Beach Buoy looked to the North.
The Sea Front factory, where Beach Buoy had served his apprenticeship now had been fully re-clad.
The structural steel of the building must be around a hundred years old, yet it now stared out to Sea as if it were the new kid on the block.

Time to go... in many ways.

In the Car park, short short man's car was still there.
Had Short short man gone on a long long walk?
Let's just hope that he hasn't gone for a long walk on a Short Pier!

Beach Buoy.
