Beach Buoy hadn't been right all day
He wasn't going to go for an evening walk.
He was glad that he did.
He, Borrowed Dog and Another Dog reached the beach at 7-50 p.m.
There was a marvelous Sun Halo.
It was a double even though the outer ring was faint and difficult to capture with a cheap phone camera.
The car park was fairly quiet.
He and the dogs headed south.
It was difficult not to keep looking north.
It was magical.
More arcs spread out from the top of the main arc.
They continued south.....
... and checked north.
8-29 p.m.
The three were up at Stubborn Dog Stack.
"Evening Mate."
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
To the north the halo began to fade.
A Kestrel flew over Stubborn Dog Stack.
It headed west.
It hovered nearby.
"See you mate."
They returned to the beach.
Driftwood lay near the sea.
They walked towards a setting sun.
It was a peaceful walk back.
Upon closer inspection, the driftwood was well worn.
They followed tracks of others. Back to the promenade.
At the bottom of the access ramp, two ladies had set up a camp.
Driftwood stood upright in the sand, fire at its base.
A man stopped to chat to them.
His two old dogs waited nearby.
The man reached for nearby small pieces of driftwood, adding them to the flames.
He pointed south and left them in peace.
