SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL 13, MAY, 2023.

When Beach Buoy and Another Dog drove to the beach, the streetlights were already switched off.
The sky was as grey as the dry tarmac road surface.
The backdrop so dull, that recently-naked trees bloomed in an even mor vibrant shade of green.

They arrived in the car park at 4-57 a.m.
The 4x4 Border Collie Couple were already walking south on a distant water's edge.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed down the beach access ramp.
Two hoods went up.
Hands dug deep in pockets.
Head high in the clouds,
Some grey some black recently.

The 4x4 couple headed back, through the dunes.

There was a breeze from the north.
Three youngsters headed north on the strand-line.
The sunrise had gone unseen.
Perhaps locked in the cargo hold of a ship that was coming into Port.

Beach Buoy paused and turned 360 degrees.
The beach was theirs.
They continued southwards.

A passing jogger broke the solitude
He was dressed in black and grey.
That counted as camouflage today.

The jogger disappeared into the dunes briefly.
He then returned to the north.

5-38 a.m.
"Morning Mate."
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.

A sip of coffee and they moved on.
He didn't miss or love Stubborn Dog any less.
He just had to walk today .some days can be like that.

"See you mate."
They returned to the beach.

Driftwood planted hopefully in the grey rocks.
Although on colour, the photograph almost looks black and white.

Another view.
Another daydream.
Team Distant Wave were way off in the distance.
Beach Buoy headed to Sand Martin Corner.

No birds in flight just yet as far as Beach Buoy could see.

Beach Buoy sat on a World War Two Tank Trap.
He drank the remainder of the coffee.

The tide came in.
They headed back.

The 7 a.m. club had arrived at the  south end of the beach.
Mari and Wallace, the Dogs said hello.
"I'll walk back along with you."
Beach Buoy was happy with that.
Two hoods came down to listen to and share stories.

Eventually, they went their own ways.

Cones but no ice-cream on the Promenade.
They are there to try and stop people bothering the Little Terns.
It doesn't always work.
Some people are as thick as the promenade wall.
Beach Buoy drove to Newburn Bridge,
