Sunday.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog reached the car park at
6-28 a.m.
The only sun around was in the name of the day
But it was early yet.
The tide was well out.
A silver grey sea broke onto the beach.
Beach Buoy raised three hoods.
It was fresh.
The 7 a.m. club were heading south.
Team Distant Wave were heading north.
The two groups met as they often do.
They chatted.
Beach Buoy waited until they were heading their separate ways.
He took over a drawing to Team Distant Wave.
In memory of the lost pup.
They liked it.
It was in a white frame.
A frame can make anything look better.
A £5 note in a frame would look like it was worth £10, even in a £2.99 frame.
They went their separate ways.
A couple walked towards the village.
The sky above them had a hint of orange.
A sea pottery Gull head.
Out in the bay, the Sun began to radiate through the clouds.
It was less colourful to the north.
A man played fetch with his dog down by the sea.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed to Stubborn Dog Stack.
"Morning Mate."
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
He sat on a stack stone.
He drank coffee with a fresh breeze blowing in his face
Gulls drifted overhead like expertly-made paper aeroplanes.
A ship passed by the Wind Turbines as it headed for the river.
"See you mate."
They headed south towards Sand Martin Corner.
There was a dot in the distance, it was the only other person on the beach.
As they passed Camp Distant Wave, Beach Buoy could see that a red flag was flying.
Someone had made use of an old crab pot marker.
Early morning sunlight swept the village like a pavement-proud shopkeeper.
Old friends.
Beach Buoy went to Sand Martin Corner.
He wanted to note the date that the Sand Martin's arrived.
Still 11 days to go to last year's date.
13 April he first saw the first of them in 2022.
Suddenly the unmistakable silhouette of a Sand Martin flew by.
Just the one but nevertheless
2, April 2023
Sand Martins.
🤗
They headed back a little reluctantly.
Two headed south along the water's edge.
The Sun began to shine brightly.
Distant Beach Huts looked like jewels encased in a seafront settings.
The beach below 18 carat gold.
They ambled back slowly.
Beach Buoy sat in the van a while.
The Little People walked the Promenade wall.
They hadn't noticed Beach Buoy and Another Dog sat in the van.
Watching.
Smiling.
BEACH BUOY.
