The tide was high, the beach narrow.
Hugo, the Distant Wave Dog had been over for a hello and a neck scratch.
They headed to the dunes and back again.
It was a glorious start to the day.
The sea came rushing in, it tried to reclaim a large piece of driftwood as it did so.
It was 6-53 a.m. when Beach Buoy said
"Morning Mate."
he patted
THE
stone.
He added more.
They went to sit on the nearby dune edge.
Due to the height of the tide, the sea was no more than five metres away.
"Can we go now?"
Another Dog is not a fan of sitting and thinking.
She was pacified enough to let Beach Buoy spend some time with his mate.
He watched the sun try to break through the cloud cover.
Beach Buoy noted just how little wildlife seemed to be around this morning.
Particularly when compared to Wednesday morning, when it felt like word had spread around the Bay's wildlife that
Sir David Attenborough had turned up to film his latest TV series.
He hadn't.
Maybe it was just that if the fish are in the Bay , then everything else follows?
"See you mate."
They began a slow, narrow walk back.
People beach-combed as the tide began to pull out.
It appeared that the sea had left the large driftwood piece be for another day.
Mr Gunn / Nunn passed by.
They chatted briefly.
Hedgehog Dunes.
Clumps of small dune, at the northern end of the main dune system.
Beyond is the area where The Little Terns come to nest.
They fence it off for the duration.
Hedgehog Dunes are formed.
The birds leave in August.
Fences come down and the newly formed hedgehog dunes are levelled!
Beach Buoy and Another dog headed to the van.
They arrived in the car park as a near-miss took place.
Rita the meter maid was on collision course with the headphone man, who walks the edge of the car park.
There could be loose change and headphones everywhere!
A stall in pace and a disaster was avoided.
Beach Buoy opened the van.
He gave Another Dog a welcome drink.
Then made himself an equally welcome coffee.
The almost matching couple headed south to the end of the Promenade.
Two men in bright orange tops headed to the beach with litter picking grabs and bags in-hand.
