SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL. SATURDAY 18 SEPT. 2021.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog reached the beach
car park at 6-20 a.m.
Two walkers, dressed as joggers walked the promenade.

It was mild, with a not unpleasant breeze from the south west.
The sky to the north looked overcast, whereas to the south it promised a nice day.

They headed for the water's edge.
Some of an early 7 a.m club headed south towards a distant, distant wave lady.
Beach Buoy wondered what time sunrise would be?
"Google, sunrise Seaton Carew."
"The sunrise today is at 6-46."
It was 6-46, the sunrise took place behind closed doors.

Beach Buoy passed the Thudding Driftwood from last night.
He could almost hear it now,
"506."
Thud!
"507."
Thud!
"Aw stuff this for a game of soldiers!"

A late, but early member of the 7 a.m. club played catch-up with the others, scattering a hundred or more seagulls as he and his dog did so.

The Double Border Collie Couple  passed by as they walked the water's edge.
A wave and a "Morning"later and they were gone.

Its odd, they, like Beach Buoy had milled about on the beach for years but only spoke for the first time last week.
But once you have said that initial hello there is no going back.

Eventually the sun cleared the low cloud that lined the horizon.
The early 7 a.m club and Distant Wave Lady approached as did Mari, the Big Friendly Poodle and Hugo the Greek Rescue Dog for their neck scratches.
Another Dog bounced all over in excitement.
The Distant Wave Lady made a fuss of her.
"What a ball of fluff."
They chatted briefly about the glorious sun and the benefits of getting up and out early.
"Bye."
"Bye."

The houses that edged the Village Green took it in turns to have their windows gilded gold by the sunlight.
As the sun rose others had their time in the spotlight.

They headed for
Stubborn Dog Stack.
Beach Buoy had collected seven beach stones to add.

"Morning Mate."
he patted
THE
stone.
He placed the stones in any visible gaps in the stack.

They headed to the dune edge for a sit and think.

Its odd, but nice how often the beach drains of people when it comes to  their sit and think dune edge time.
No matter if it was morning or evening.
Or maybe The Dune Dragon was stood right behind them!

Eventually the beach-combing Border Collie Couple approached, searching the strand line as they did so.

"See you mate ."
Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed back.
(After Beach Buoy untangled Another Dog's latest attempt at a dog lead knot around his leg.)

The incoming tide created Temporary Islands as it surrounded raised sections of the uneven beach surface.
A Gull claimed one for itself.
He named it after himself.
It would soon be renamed Atlantis.

They headed back as far as The Seaton Carew Wreck.

They passed Gulls that were stood randomly.
They all usually face the breeze to avoid a bad feather day.
Today they all seem to be just stood staring in varying directions as if waiting for news.

They toddled down to
The Seaton Carew Wreck.
Just for a nosey.

Beach Buoy took a closer looked at the wooden nail construction of the poor old vessel.

Beach Buoy and Another abandoned ship and headed for
HMS van.
He made coffee.
Another Dog curled up on the beach bag after having a drink and fell asleep.

Beach Buoy rested his head on an arm and nodded.
He was woken by the clip clop of of horses hooves as they crossed the car park, whilst heading for the beach access ramp.

Clip.
Clop.
