Sunday 18 June 2023

SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL. 18, JUNE 2023.

 Fathers Day.

Beach Buoy hasn't seen his since 1982.

He died suddenly aged 56.

It was a new beach book day.

Always great to have a reason to start writing in a new book

No blank page fear.

Committing to the chosen use, then having a change of plan.

The first page ruined.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog set off for the beach at 4-58 a.m.
As you can see from the photograph, she was super excited.
😬

They reached the Promenade
at 5-07.
They headed down the beach access ramp.

Two sunrise seekers sit with their dog they sat watching the sun rise up into the morning sky.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog walked to the water's edge.
They looked to the north.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed south.
From a distance driftwood looked like a resting Mermaid.

Beach Buoy found a Mermaids necklace, tangled in some seaweed.
He untangled it as he sat on the driftwood mermaid.

A one "man" team distant wave approached.
Hugo and Little Fox too.
She said how wonderful the sunrise had been.

The very very wet Retriever and it's owner overtook Beach Buoy and Another Dog.
"Morning."
"Morning.'

Beach Buoy headed for the dune edge.
He sat and drank coffee.
Another Dog dug a hole and sat in it.

The beach was narrow due to the high tide.
The very very wet Retriever and owner were heading back.

Just sitting up on dune edge would avoid that awkwardness, like you meet an acquaintance in a supermarket aisle.
Then the next.
Then the next.
Then you think to move down three aisle only to find that they did the same!
They sat long enough to notice the beach was becoming wider as the tide pulled back.

Beach Buoy watched as Little Terns hovered like Kestrels before dropping like stones.
They took their catch to the nest site.

A very very wet Retriever leaves the sea.

As one ship leaves another heads towards the river.

The Sea Serpent.

They headed to Stubborn Dog Stack.

"Morning Mate."
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
It was 6-20 a.m.
Beach Buoy sat drinking the last of the coffee as Bees bumbled on nearby yellow flowers.

Beach Buoy stood up.
Another twenty minutes of life had passed in a most delightful way.

Beach Buoy made a note,
18/06/23, Skylarks still singing.

"See you mate."

They headed back to the beach.

Beach found some fitting, coffee seaglass.

Mr Gunn/Nunn passed by with his lovely dog Alfie.
They had a nice chat.

They went their separate ways.

A King Charles Spaniel came to say hello.
As did it's owner.

"Morning."
"Morning."

Beach Buoy did a bit of a beach clean as they headed back.

The van waited patiently in the car park as Rita the Meter maid did her loose change rounds.

Others walked the beach as Beach Buoy drank van coffee.

Another Dog slept in the light breeze on the van's colourful floor.

BEACH BUOY.
