loSEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL.15 JUNE 2023.

A day off.
A Thursday.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog were up early as usual.
They reached the beach car park at 4-58 a.m.
An overnight HGV was parked up, it's trailer doors wide open to show it's cargo of empty.

It was gorgeous.
The Sun seemed to lay out a golden footpath.

There wasn't a breath of wind.

They ambled along.
The sea and sun, their only company.
Minutes from the house and a couple if miles of Seaton Sands to themselves.

The Wind Turbines stood motionless.
The lack of rotation seemed to give the turbines a character of their own.
Sea sculptures.
Matchstick people.
Some looked curious, others shrugged imagined shoulders.

Beach Buoy stood soaking it all up.
The scene.
The sight.
The sound.

The Sea Serpent and a curious wind turbine.

Two Crows followed them, thinking that Beach Buoy had Cat treats.
He didn't.

5-34 a.m.

"Morning Mate."
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.

They went down on the beach, directly below Stubborn Dog Stack.

Coffee time.
Another Dog was tired.
She slept with her head on Beach Buoy's legs.

Not a soul in sight.
Not on Seaton SANDS at least.
Beach Buoy stroked Another Dog's head as wondered how much it would cost to hire two miles of deserted beach for over an hour.
Today it was free.

Beach Buoy drew in the damp wet sand beside them.
You are never too old to draw in the sand.

6-06 a.m.
The first sight of others.
It was a distant 7 a.m. club.
Beach Buoy stood.
He and Another Dog headed back.

They chatted to the 7 a.m. club as their paths crossed.
They were introduced to Barney, a Jack Russel with a "reputation."

Beautiful clouds hung over the bay.

Beach Buoy noticed he southbound footsteps.
He could see the curvature of the footstep line.
It were he had closed his eyes to see how far he dare walk with shut eyes.
He chickened out at 84.

A Plover called from the dune edge
It was a lonely forlorn sounding call.

Beach Buoy placed a yellow beach-found plastic spade in the toy loan area.

Beach clean in bin.
.he chatted to a couple that were sitting on the sand out your shoes bench.
It's the one at the top of the beach access ramp.

Coffee in van.
Radio.on quietly.

The van gang.
