SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL.18, SEPT. 2022.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog
arrived at the beach car park at 6-41 a.m.
There were half a dozen cars.
Some familiar.
Some not.
There was no breeze.
The Golf Club's half-mast flag hung like a bowed head.

If any of the figures stood at the water's edge were sunrise seekers , they were to be disappointed.
The sky was full of greyish blue cloud.
The sea wore grey.

They began to head south.
To the north, dogs barked.
A man squatted at the edge of the sea, taking photographs.
Perhaps his stance would make the waves look bigger.
With a swoop 137 Starlings landed on the strand-line.
They searched the sands.

Four Cormorants flew north like a dotted line close to the sea below.
A young lady headed by dressed in sporting attire.
Another lady walked her dog up on the strand-line.
The starlings took flight as one.

Hugo; the distant wave lady's dog spotted Beach Buoy.
It bounded towards him like some neck scratch seeking missile.
A neck scratch ensued.
The big dog's owner approached with people and a Pug for company.
They chatted briefly.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed to Stubborn Dog Stack.

"Morning Mate."
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
He sat on a large stack stone.
A chunky Beach Buoy pulled out a Chunky KitKat.
He drank coffee from his thermal mug.
He watched the sea as some would sit and watch the flames of an open fire.
The Beachcombing Border Collie Couple, reached the Grey Rocks.
Within minutes they and their dog were back along the beach.

Beach Buoy watched, coffee in hand as they became smaller and smaller.

"See you mate."
They headed back to the beach, then north.
They became someone else's dots in the distance.

Four seabirds chased another that had found food.
They twisted and turned as they passed.

A couple headed south with yet another Border Collie.
"Morning."
"Morning."
Beach Buoy carried on.

From the north came yells from the Brass Monkeys sea swimmers as they entered the sea.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed to the van.
Another had parked alongside.
