SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL 17 SEPT. 2022.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog arrived at the beach at 6-38 a m
It was Saturday morning.
There were half a dozen cars in the car park.
The wind turbines spun but there was hardly a breeze on the beach.
An elderly man threw a ball for his large dog, almost falling over as he did so.

The sea was wild.
In complete contrast, the beach was calm as were the people who walked it.
They headed south.
Four young sunrise seekers were stood at the water's edge.
Also up ahead, the distant wave lady and Hugo her wonderful big dog.

The sea and the sand were like two different worlds.

The sun broke free from the low cloud that held it.
It rose like a newly-filled Helium balloon.
The young sunrise seekers had missed the moment of arrival.
Just as the sun was about to show, a large wave ran in.
They all did the...
"Oh no! My trainers! dance as they tried unsuccessfully to keep their footwear dry.

The distant wave lady came by.
They chatted briefly as Hugo indulged in a double dose of neck scratching.
They headed in opposite directions.

The Beachcombing Border Collie Couple were heading south.
They don't dawdle.
More of a Bish Bash Bosh Beach for the them.
Get job done.
A ☑️.
Then Gone.
For the first time ever, their Border Collie came over.
Not familiar enough for a neck scratch.
A head tickle did the trick.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed to Stubborn Dog Stack.

"Morning Mate."
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.

Another Dog jumped up onto her back legs, resting against Beach Buoy's in a
"Hold it right there!"
movement.
"Yes "
"I have dog treats."
Beach Buoy sat on a large stack stone.

He sat watching the rolling sea.
He unscrewed the cap from his thermal mug.
He took a drink of hot strong coffee.
He reached into a coat pocket.
Out came the last three biscuits in a pack
Beach Buoy had twisted the packet around and round to seal them.
He untwisted the packet to release a biscuit.
He felt a bit like a kid who had decided to run away, having a snack.

He's lucky.
He gets to run away, back to his beach childhood most days.

A man appeared on the beach, below the stack.
His dog dropped its ball for a moment.
The ball began to roll down the sloped beach.
It stopped just short of the sea.
The panicked Spaniel began a frantic search for the ball as its owner began to head back to the  north.
Beach Buoy's money was on the sea claiming the ball for its own.
At the very last moment on its umpteenth pass, the dog scooped up the ball and ran to catch up with its owner.

Beach Buoy had switched off that
"Inner rush "
The sun shone brightly.
The sea roared.
The Sea Serpent Marker was taking a pounding.
So much so it seemed to be leaning at a slight angle.
He had an excellent sit and think.
All too soon reality called.
"See you mate "
Back to the beach below and the world around.

 They headed back.
Beach Buoy paused at a narrowing of the beach.
The sea was claiming more and more of it as the tide came in
He waited for a lull and crossed the possible pinch point.
  It had been grand......

Up ahead a large dog had caused mischief.

Beach Buoy was expecting a visit.

The large dog ran towards them.
It's plank of an owner looked on.
Beach Buoy does what he always .
He scooped up his little mate.

The large dog kept jumping up as Beach Buoy kept walking.
" If you stop mate, I'll get him."

Maybe just it keep on a lead next time dogs are around.
All dogs have bums.
Some bums have dogs.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed to the van
The headland was calling.

BEACH BUOY.
