Beach Buoy and Another Dog reached the beach at 6-23 p.m.
It looked like a cold evening but it was far from it.
A lady in a green coat and a rush headed up the access ramp as they made their way down.
There was a slight breeze from the south west.
They headed towards the sea, stopping around midway between the strand-line and the sea itself.
The tide was a fair way out.
It was out beyond the Seaton Carew Wreck, which was visible once more thanks to the low tide and recent shifting sands.
A parcel of Oyster Catchers stood working the water's edge.
Beach Buoy did a head count;11 in total.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed south.
There was shingle to search.
A couple headed north in winter attire.
Blue lights flashed in the beach car park.
Two police officers walked to the strand-line.
They paused.
One of the officers put put their hands on their hips, as if puzzled.
The Police headed back to the car park.
Beach Buoy continued searching the shingle patches as they progressed south.
Out in the bay, a grey sea mirrored a grey sky.
Every now and then a figure would pop up on the heights of the taller dunes.
Each one a vantage point.
Was it one of the police constables?
Beach Buoy's mental query was answered shortly afterwards as he and Another Dog headed for the sandy slope.
They almost crossed paths with a policeman who was just leaving the dunes, joining the beach.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed up to Stubborn Dog Stack.
The policeman, went south to north gare pier.
"Evening Mate."
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
He watched as another Police Constable followed her colleague south.
She stopped.
She turned around and headed back to the car park to the north.
Beach Buoy had brought a coffee to have up at Stubborn Dog Stack.
It was all a bit busy tonight.
He decided to drink it as they walked.
"See you mate. "
Beach Buoy and Another Dog climbed back down to the beach.
Up ahead were a couple with a Spaniel and a peep peep whistle.
They sounded like a couple of Victorian Policemen, helping in a smoggy search for a man in a cape and a tall hat.
"Peep Peep.'
The couple reached the Pier then headed back via the dunes.
Beach Buoy paused to look at the sea
He often does.
He drank coffee
He often does.
The police hadn't said if there was anything to be concerned about.
If there had been reports of a Sea Serpent, then he could have assisted with their enquiries.
But what if? ...
What if it was an escaped Lion?
A Mass Murderer on the loose?
They would have said surely?
