Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed for the other side of the river.
It is twenty miles or so to be sat looking across the river to his usual haunts.
Each time he has made the trip, he has never made it to Bran Sands.
Its a small beach that he has seen, from a distance, year after year.
Beach Buoy parked up on the access road to photograph the ruined blast furnace.
Beach Buoy had worked at the site on shut downs.
It was a little kike being on another planet.
Beach Buoy drove towards South Gare Pier.
He managed to find a park up spot, overlooking Bran Sands.
Beach Buoy found a suitable access to Bran Sands ; a new beach for him.
It was 2-15 p.m.
Almost immediately a Seal popped up, just beyond the water's edge.
A man walked five dogs, shouting as he walked.
Beach Buoy collected three Bran Sands stones for Stubborn Dog Stack.
They headed to the river mouth end of the beach.
The tide was coming in and was claiming the flat beach quite quickly.
They headed back along the beach.
They passed the world war two pillbox.
The beach opened up into a large crescent.
Plenty of industry of the south side of the of the river.
Rain came in with the tide.
They headed back to the van.
Beach Buoy drove the van the short distance to South Gare Pier.
Late lunch with a view was the plan.
Tomato soup.
Crusty buttered buns.
A new radio for the van.
Beach Buoy took his time eating lunch as he waited for the rain to ease.
They headed back out onto the pier.
To the south, waves rolled onto Coatham Beach.
They headed to the river.
Across the river.
Looking towards Seaton Carew.
They walked the the riverside up to South Gare Pier.
They climbed up onto a viewing platform.
The sea was running along the length of the Pier.
The viewing platform also gave a good view of Coatham Beach.
And a great view of the angry, rolling sea.
They walked back towards the van.
The pier is a very popular stop over for campers and motorhomes.
The numbers seemed to be growing down on the beach.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog settled back in the van; coffee time.
Coffee drank, they both nodded off.
Time to go.
Beach Buoy paused on the way back to capture a photograph of Paddy's Hole.
Sea swimmers began to arrive, then head for Coatham Beach.
BEACH BUOY.
