Thursday.
Once again the day started scraping ice from the van's windscreen.
Beach Buoy went to collect Borrowed Dog.
They drove to Seaton Park.
It was a brilliant and fresh morning.
Rita the Meter Maid had set off on her regular route.
No change there.
8-42 a.m.
The beach was bright with a slight breeze from the west once more.
The Sea Front Houses near to the Village Green shone brightly.
There was next to no one on the beach.
Beach Buoy stood, next to no one, two dogs for company.
Beach Buoy had left his sunglasses in the van.
He kept raising his hand above eyes to check for loose dogs to the south.
The sunlight was dazzling.
Driftwood.
It looked like a railway sleeper that had split in half along it's length?
It was frosted.
It helped to confirm the tide was on its way in.
It will have frozen overnight.
A man headed north with his Black Labrador.
Another man followed with a Greyhound.
Out in the bay, beyond the breaking waves, a Raft of Gulls rose and fell on an unbroken sea.
The bright sunlight reflected on the whiteness of the birds.
The dune edge was frosted.
As was the low level route.
They walked it.
The Big Slope was fully frosted.
It resembled a ski jump.
Eddie the Seagull could come flying down at any moment.
"Morning Mate."
It was 9-34.
Beach Buoy added some stones.
Five
He patted
THE
stone.
He had brought a coffee.
It had been a while.
He stood drinking it.
The driftwood plank with plenty of still had plenty of frost.
There was a boot print where someone had possibly fastened their bootlace?
Beach Buoy and the dogs dropped to the beach below.
Just in time.
A couple were heading towards Stubborn Dog Stack via the "Easy " route up in the dunes.
A lady with two Small Black Spaniels had turned at the grey rocks.
They led the way back.
Two ladies with yapping dogs walked to the south, as did two coffee drinkers..
Beach Buoy glanced back to the south.
Excellent Dog Alfie trotted by.
Mr Gunn/Lunn gave a wave.
He had a borrowed dog on a lead;Basil.
They headed back to their vehicles in Seaton Park, chatting as they walked.
BEACH BUOY.
