SEATON SNOOKS TEA ROOM OUT AND ABOUT CARD.

THE MAN WITH A LONG BIT OF
DRIFTWOOD.

BEACH BUOY.

SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL AN EVENING VISIT. 29, SEPT. 2024.

 Sunday evening.

Second visit of the day.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog reached the car park at 6-09.

They headed to the beach.

It was sunny.

There was a breeze from the south.

The tide was about 50/50.

Their sunshine shadows headed south, they followed.
A couple sat beside a small camp fire near to the dune edge.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed to the big slope.
Nearby, a man scanned the strand-line with a metal detector.
His wife/ Partner walked alongside.
Her body language seemed to suggest that she wished that she was elsewhere.

Upon reaching the top, Beach Buoy could see Billy Buoy at Stubborn Dog Stack.
This pleased him more than maybe it should have done.

They walked the "easy" route to
The Stack.

"Evening Mate, Evening Billy Buoy."
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
He sat on the well-worn plank with plenty of rust.
It was 6-31 p.m.

A ship sailed to sea.

Beach Buoy stood to go.

Down on the beach below, the lady with the White Husky cross, walked near the water's edge.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed back along the "easy" route.
At times the route hugs the dune edge.
At one of these points, Beach Buoy raised an arm. A distant wave to the Lady with the Husky cross.
It was returned.
Both milking the last of the lighter nights.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed north.
The light was already beginning to  fade a little.

Gulls crossed the dunes, then out to sea.

As Beach Buoy and Another Dog turned to face the beach access ramp, The Seaton Carew Wreck was coming ashore.

SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL. 29, SEPT. 2024

Beach Buoy and Another Dog reached the beach.
It was just after 7 a.m.
Sunrise was taking place.

Sea swimmers entered the water.
Others stood chatting and watching.

This time of year the sunrise still takes place over the sea.
As winter approaches and arcs become smaller, it will rise above land from Seaton Sands at least.
Beach Buoy has it as a tick box, when as spring approaches the sun begins to rise out at sea once more
Quite literally, light at the end of the tunnel.
The winter tunnel.

They headed down the access ramp.
The Sunlight was dazzling.
As so often happens, no sooner had the Sun cleared the horizon then it began to be claimed by the clouds

Team Muzzled Dog caught up.
Their paths hadn't crossed for a while.
They chatted.
They had been on Safari, only getting their two dogs back the night before .

Team Muzzled Dog headed off south at a quicker pace.

The Sun going, had changed the morning's pallette.

The tide was as far out as the Seaton Carew Wreck .

Beach Buoy and Another Dog walked the "easy" route.
The lady who walks the length of the beach below, turned to head back northwards.

"Morning Mate."
Billy Buoy was still in place.
On lookout duty.
It was 7-35.
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
He sat on the well-worn plank with plenty of rust.
He just sat ...

On the beach below, two men headed north with their two dogs.

Beach Buoy stood.
"See you mate."

Beach Buoy and Another Dog continued southwards along the dune edge.

In time they dropped down on the beach, crossing grey rocks to do so.

Different shades of sand look like flames of a beach bonfire.

A hat.
Possibly blown off a customer at the nearby Seaton Snooks Tea Room in the recent blowy wether?

Time to head back.
The man who used to have a Beagle but who now has a Spaniel, joined them for the journey back to the car park .

Beach Buoy.

VANS AT THE BLUE LAGOON 28. SEPT. 2024.

Beach Buoy wanted to make use of the van.

Goodness knows it has cost a fortune in the last couple of months.

He had brought lunch.

Lots of others vans were there too.
Obviously, someone let it slip that Beach Buoy was turning up.
😂

He made a coffee.
He had warm corned beef and potato pasties and sausage rolls.

Who'd have guessed...

He swiveled the passenger seat around.
Radio on.
Switch off and relax.

More vans turned up.
Small powered surf boards were carried around.

They set off for the beach.

They cut through some dunes.

The tide was high.
The waves looked perfect for surfers.

The incoming tide goes between the North and South Gares before spreading out like an open fan.

The boards were odd looking things.
A blade and a motor underneath a small board.
They zipped here, there and everywhere.

Another Dog  doesn't like water
She misjudged her route.
She stood in shock
Up to her shoulders in a deep rock pool.
She dried in the warm sun.

Beach Buoy sat, eyes shut, face aimed at the sun
It's warmth felt good as did the gentle breeze that blew.
He opened his eyes to see a butterfly.
He wondered if it will be the last of the year
It could be his last one ever ?

Beach Buoy  sat watching the surfers.
It reminded him of the day he turned up to find the rivermouth full of colourful kite surfers.

They headed back to the van.

"Yer mate... My board is in for repair..."

BEACH BUOY.

28, SEPT. 2024. SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog arrived at the car park. It looked like the beach, as so much sand had been blown from the beach in recent winds .

It was early.
The Sun had just rose.

Beach Buoy had a task today.

A twitter follower had sadly had to say goodbye to their dog, Molly.
They had asked Beach Buoy to add a stone to Stubborn Dog Stack for her.
No problem...

As Beach Buoy faffed at the side of the van, the Beachcombing Border Collie Couple left the beach via the access ramp.
The air was still.
It was a bright start to the day.

Beach Buoy headed for the ramp.

A lady that he had never seen before did too.
She had an old, friendly looking boxer dog.
Her dog wanted to say hello to Another Dog.
"Come here Molly."
Molly!
All of the years that Beach Buoy has come to the beach.
This was the first Molly that he had met.
Today of all days.

They all headed down the ramp.

Upon reaching the beach, Team One Black Ear approached.
They were leaving.

Team One Black Ear wanted to chat to the lady with Molly.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed to the sea after a quick
"Morning."

It was a calm morning, but the sea rumbled, like a still-to-be-seen train coming down the tracks.

Beach Buoy had brought paint pens and spray varnish.
He just needs to find a couple of suitable "Molly" stones.

They headed south.
As they walked, Beach Buoy looked for suitable stones.

The access ramp chat must have been over.
It sounded like the lady and Molly were in the dunes to the north.
The name of a called dog drifted in the breeze.
"Molly!."
"Molly!"
You couldn't make it up.
He placed suitable stones into his beach bag as they progressed towards the big slope.
The walked the "easy" route.

Screams came from the north.
The swimmers were greeting the chilly sea.

"Morning Mate and Billy Buoy."
He added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
He sat on the well-worn plank with plenty of rust.

He painted the newly-found stones.
He sprayed them with varnish.
He planned to put one on show, hiding the other.
Least one will stay should prats arrive.

He sat watching the sea as the paint and varnish dried.

He placed the stones.
"See you mate."
They set off for the beach.

It looked inviting.

The dune edge.
Back to the beach.
Twenty four hours and a million miles from yesterday.

They returned to the van.

Team Florrie has just arrived.
The had a lovely lovely chat.
As they said farewell, Dotty Dog and mam passed by.
A quick on the go chat and they were gone.

This odd blog post is dedicated to Molly.

JUST THE ESPLANADE. 27, SEPT. 2024.

The weather has been dreadful.
It was around 1 p.m.
When Beach Buoy, Borrowed Dog and Another Dog parked up at Seaton Park.
They began to walk The Esplanade.
It was sunny.
The Sun was warm.
The breeze on their backs from the north was cold.
The sky ahead looked like Summer.
A winter sky was behind.
In a moment, the winter sky caught up.

Rain came.
They left.

NORTH GARE PIER TO THE STACK AND BACK. 25, SEPT. 2024.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog reached North Gare Car Park at 4-32 p.m.

Rain was forecast for later on.

An area was fenced off next to the car park.

Tees Archeology were investigating a Medieval Mound.

Beach Buoy set off for Stubborn Dog Stack.

They headed down the track that leads to and from North Gare Pier.

They cut through the dunes just before the Pier.
For some unknown reason he was running up the dunes.
Very UnBeach Buoy-like.
At the top of one of the dunes stood a lady.
She was looking for a route back to the car park.
The lady had been on the dig at the Mound.
She had later headed for the beach with her metal detector.
They chatted as Beach Buoy guided her back to the Pier track.

Beach Buoy told a few local stories.
They went their separate ways.

Beach Buoy returned to dune heights.
He walked this time.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog  dropped down onto the dune edge.

Sea Fret.

5-44.
"Afternoon Mate."
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
He took a seat on the well-worn plank with plenty of rust.

They sat a while.

"See you mate."

They headed back through the dunes.

Back to the van.
 Pier fishermen led the way.

NORTH GARE PIER ONTO SEATON SANDS. 24, SEPT.2024

Beach Buoy and Another Dog drove to North Gare Car Park.
It was just after 4-30 p.m.
It was mild.
There was a gentle breeze from the north west.

A couple sat on the bench that overlooked the rivermouth.

Pointing and chatting.
Chatting and pointing.
Maybe each recalling younger days when the last thing that they would do, was sit on a bench?

It was a lovely afternoon.
They set off along the track that led to the Pier.
Behind them a rusting oil rig waits for the scrap burner's lamp.

The beach south of the Pier is called North Gare Beach.
It is also known locally as the Blue Lagoon.
Possibly because of the sea water that becomes trapped behind the riverside rocks?
Beach Buoy has found that Hartlepool folk call it the Blue Lagoon, whereas folk from out of town tend to call it the Snooks.

Note.

Since blog post Beach Buoy has been reliably information it was called  The Blue Lagoon thanks to the Zinc works and it's chemicals .

The pathway and The Blue Lagoon seemed sheltered.
As they approached the start of the actual Pier, Beach Buoy could hear the sea in the Bay to the north.

They worked their way to Seaton Sands, walking the fresher dune edge.

A beach fisherman fished, just beyond the grey rocks.

5-07.
"Afternoon Mate."
Beach Buoy was pleased to see that the orange buoy was still in position.
He added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
He sat on a well-worn plank with plenty of rust.

He sat.
He sighed.
He soaked up the moment.

"See you mate."

They headed back along the dune edge.

To the west, rays of sunlight shine down.
It looked like it could rain soon.

They headed back along the track.

A man was coming up the
"Remember this."
Slope.

He had a large piece of driftwood on each shoulder.

They reached the gate to the car park around the same time.
Beach Buoy held the gate open for the laden man.
"Thank you. Did you get any good photos?"
"It's just a phone camera."
The man had an accent as though he was from one of the local pit villages.
They chatted briefly about the twitchers that had gathered along the narrow North Gare Road.
"Been sightings of  short-eared owls.
A big white barn owl too." said the man.
The man headed off to his estate car.
Beach Buoy headed to the van.

Pier Fact.

Later, Beach Buoy was driving along the seafront.
He had to stop.
The sight over The Gares was amazing.
The photographs do not do the sight any justice.
All the colours of the rainbow poured down like a waterfall from an odd shaped cloud.

Beach Buoy hadn't seen anything like it before.
Although poor, the photographs will act as a reminder to the actual sight over the sea.

Beach Buoy headed to the van.
