SEATON SANDS 22 JULY 2019.

6-19 pm
WWW.. warm westerly wind.
It was a strong wind on a sunny evening.
The car park was busy with cars and black-headed gulls that were sat squatted down trying to shelter from the warm but strong wind.
Three of the regular twitcher types were again on duty over-looking the Little Tern nest site.

Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog headed for the beach and the sea beyond.
Then .. Laughter
Beach Buoy turned around to see a toddler legging it to the water's edge. The Mother was not too far behind running, playing catch up and laughing at the little child's speed and enthusiasm.

The wind rippled the surface of the sea.
every now and then a gust would come and send a rippled pattern running out into the Bay, like a launched torpedo trail.
There was a regular PLOP PLOP sound as the Little Terns dived into the Sea.
It was the first time Beach Buoy had seen them chase one another; one trying to make the other drop its catch.

A  Large Blue and White Ship sailed out of the River Tees with the Pilot Boat close by its side.
It reminded Beach Buoy of one of those sea creatures that has smaller ones following it to keep it  free of parasites;
strangers but constant companions.
Pilotage complete, the little boat headed back as its larger one-time companion gave out a belch of black smoke as it gained speed and headed South.
They went for a sit and think down by the grey rocks directly opposite the Rolling Sea Serpent.
It was a long sit and think.

When it was time to go, Stubborn Dog wouldn't.
So ... carry it was,
Three carrying styles were used as follows
1. The Parcel.
(Dog under arm but supported... and No, not chants of "Come on you Stubborn Dog.")

2. The Bird of Prey.
(Dog sat on arm, upright as an owl or bird of prey would be and attached by jesses.)

3. The Big Baby.
As the name suggests, Dog carried in two arms held in front of chest.
Dog loving life, hanging head over, ears flapping in the wind and tongue out
Never mind jesses, this was more Jessie.

Back at the Car Park, the twitchers were still on duty; they really do deserve recognition.
Early, Beach Buoy had noticed a Subaru car come into the Car Park.
They are sometimes nick-named Scobbie-doo,
The one in the Car Park was without a doubt a Scrappy-doo.
Another vehicle had caught Beach Buoy's eye, a T reg, VW Camper van in light blue.
Lovely

BEACH BUOY.
