Saturday 13 April 2019

SATURDAY, APRIL 13th 2019.

They parked up at 6-30 am.
There were two other vehicles in the car park, one at the most northern end and the other at the most southerly.
Beach Buoy parked equidistant to each.

Beach Buoy  and Stubborn Dog reached the water's edge at 6-40 am.
It looked like someone had highlighted something of note in the clouds in yellow. Below on the horizon and to the left, another point was highlighted, but this time in a pale orange.

Beach Buoy and his stubborn mate headed south.
There was a slight breeze off the sea; a bitterly cold
breeze.
Beach Buoy pulled two hoods up over his head.
The light was forever changing as the the day decided what type of mood it was in today.

A no footprint beach ..... result!
The tide was a fair way out but was coming in.

Beach Buoy glanced north.
The 7am club were just dots in the distance, having not long stepped on the beach.
The full beach looked to be sunlit... for now.

Beach Buoy searched his beach bag and was very glad to find a pair of gloves.
He put them on.
Four Oyster Catchers walked ahead.
Beach Buoy circled around them to give them
space.

Sea Pottery.

A shipwreck has moved and now is being reclaimed by the sands.

Beach Buoy doubled back slightly then walked down to the WW2 anti-tank blocks.
The 7 am club had almost caught him up, but not quite.
They had ended their southerly trek where the sand turned to rocks.
Full- sized, they stood a while then
headed back north, as Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog climbed the spill of concrete up onto North Gare Pier.

Up on the pier and out at sea.....

Across the River Tees to South Gare.

Down the side of the Pier; a school holiday shelter.....

Just behind the shelter a school holiday dune fire.

After a while they headed back to the Bay.

Up in the dunes to gain access to the sandy part of the beach.
A Hi-
viz jogger jogged with a small black dog as dark as a shadow.

The sky was dramatic.
As they headed back the brightly coloured jogger and his dark dog went by another twice.
They were getting some miles in.
