SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL , 04 AUG. 2022.

Beach Buoy woke at 5-22 a m.
Thursday.
Day off.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog reached the beach car park at 6-02 a.m.
Occupants of a motorhome slept.
The owner of a yellow van walked the dune edge, metal detecting.
A car pulled up alongside.
The car was black with a brown roof.
The owner climbed out with matching black and brown dogs.
Beach Buoy sat on the side door step as he put on his beach boots.
A downy Gull feather rolled past gently, towards the promenade.
It gave a clue as to the direction of the mild breeze.

Beach Buoy chatted to the 7 a.m. club.

A dark figure haunted the dune edge, metal detecting.
A lone figure headed north on the water's edge.
The 7 a m. club went ahead to the south.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog dawdled.

A jogger ran by.
It looked like he was jogging a hundred steps then walk a hundred, then repeat. Each time he walked he made "Should have stayed in bed." noises.

The sea was calm.
It was rippled by the breeze.
The sea lapped gently like a lakeside.
The tide was well in.
Little Terns plop plopped into the shallows in search of breakfast.

Geese headed inland.
A lone Cormorant head south like an overloaded cargo plane.

They headed up the sandy slope, dodging low flying Sand Martins.
Beach Buoy will miss all of the summer birds when they go, this year more than ever.

"Morning Mate."
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
He sat on a stack stone.
Low white  cloud on the horizon looked like distant polar region.

Beach Buoy sat, looking at the pale colours of the day.
A few spots of rain began to fall.
"See you mate."
They headed back to the beach.

A lady and her Labrador approached,
"She's very playful."
She was.
The Labrador did zoomies here and there.

A Gulp of Cormorants headed south.

The very very wet retriever ran into the sea.
The very playful Labrador  had come back along the beach to watch.
Alfie, Mr Gunn/Nunn's dog had joined the audience.
Beach Buoy passed the owner of the very very wet retriever and his dog audience.
" You look like the dog whisperer "
" I know."

Beach Buoy headed towards the van.
