SAT, 27,AUG 2022, SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL.

Saturday morning.
Beach Buoy woke at 4-44 a.m
He laid for a good while, thinking.
It was an hour later when he and Another Dog pulled up into the beach car park.
Sunrises where arriving later each day now.
They had drove to the beach with sidelights on.
Parked nearby was a foreign motorhome.
A lady stepped out of her car with a coffee and two dogs, then headed to the beach access ramp.
A man cycled to the south end  of the promenade.
He dismounted, leaned on the promenade wall looking out to sea as if waiting for the morning beach characters to arrive.

Beach Buoy made a quick coffee.

Coffee drank in a flash, they headed for the sea.
The 7 a.m. club were already to the south.
The sun showed but no sooner had it taken off its pajama bottoms, it donned a cloud hat.
A man headed north with two Black Alsatian Dogs.
He is a beach regular, who does an anticlockwise circular walk from home to beach and back.
Hugo was on the beach and went to investigate.
All was calm.

Beach Buoy watched it all go on from near the dune edge, the north end of the dune area.

Something had disturbed the shoreline Gulls...

Hugo.
♥️
The big friendly dog came to Beach Buoy twice for neck scratches.

The sea and the sky looked gorgeous.
They headed up to Stubborn Dog Stack.

"Morning Mate."
Beach Buoy patted
THE
stone.
He added beach stones to the stack.
He watched the sea a while.

"See you mate."'
He began to head south, aiming for the other sandy slope that leads easily down to the beach.
Suddenly; cheers, screams and applause.
Beach Buoy looked over the dune edge to see just what the commotion was.

The 7 a.m. club had spotted dolphins ♥️.
They cheered at each surfacing of each of the pod.

They were so close to shore.
Beach Buoy must have taken around a hundred photographs to have a couple of any use whatsoever.

The pod headed towards the river mouth to the south.
A yacht drifted across the bay to gain a Gull's eye view.

It isn't brilliant but you do get to see just how briefly they show themselves.
The visits to the surface lessened then stopped the crowd dispersed in dribs and drabs.
Beach Buoy was pleased for the owner of the very very wet retriever.
He had been one of those watching from the water's edge.
It was only a week or so earlier that he had told Beach Buoy that he had never seen the Dolphins.
He had now.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed back to the north and a waiting van.
It was a slow silvery walk back.

Beach Buoy found a beautiful piece of sea pottery.
He named it the dolphin rose.

Beach Buoy ambled along .
Mr Gunn/Nunn came along the beach.
He must have chatted to the 7 a m. Club as they had left the beach.
"Did you see the dolphins? "
he asked.
"Yes." answered Beach Buoy.
"What time were they here?"
Beach Buoy checked his phone for the hundred of so photographs to see what time they were taken.
"Around 6-44."

Beach Buoy went back to the van.
He made a milky coffee.
He sat reliving the beach walk.

The first horse of the day arrived at 7-58 a.m.

A couple cycled to the bench near the access ramp.
They shared a flask as they watched a ship leave port and maybe relive their lives ?
