SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL. 02 AUG. 2022.

The maroon flag of Seaton Carew Golf Club fluttered in the warm west wind.
It was 7-10 a.m.
In the car park, two overnight tankers were still parked, engines running.
It was overcast after overnight rain.
A hiss of air brakes signaled that both tankers were ready to go.
The noise startled 99 starlings that had been down on the beach, they flew as one over the promenade wall.
It was warm so no coat.
It could rain?
That would be fine.
They headed for the sea.

The tide was high.
Two Oyster Catchers headed south, close to the water like skimmed stones.

The wind was strong.
A Tern with it's catch  struggled to head in inland.
It tilted a wing and headed back to the sea.

The very very wet retriever came up, dropped its yellow and blue scooby doo ball at Beach Buoy's feet.
It then shook itself from nose to tail.
Beach Buoy threw the colourful ball for the wet, friendly dog.

Large Gulls hung in the wind like kites on a taut string line.
Out in the bay, the bright white flashes and subsequent splashes meant one thing; Gannets.
Alfie, Mr. Gunn/Nunn's dog came trotting over.
Beach Buoy gave the lovely little dog a warm welcome.
Not far behind its owner.
Beach Buoy had never seen him without his Flamboyant hat, but there it was, grasped tightly in his left hand.
Beach Buoy listened as he was told how beautiful Bude was.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed up to the stack.
He added two stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
"Morning Mate, l miss you "
He did.

Sand Martins worked the dune edge.
Beach Buoy thought about "stuff."

It seemed to brighten a little?
It lit up the fields over towards Saltburn, as it sometimes does
"See you mate."
They went back down to the beach.
It really did look like a patchwork quilt.
A quilt of autumnal colours.
The colour pallet maybe more to do with look if rain than season ?

Marram Grass waved in the wind on the dune edge, like a family saying farewell to an Ocean-bound sailor.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed back.

BEACH BUOY.
