SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL 17 APRIL 2021.

It was a Saturday!

Beach Buoy woke at 5-04 am

He made a thermal cup of coffee and headed for the beach.

The van's digital clock changed from 5-33 to 5-34 as they set off.

They were in the car park minutes later.

There was a breeze from the west, a 180 degree change from yesterday.

It still had the same chill.

There was a lady down by the water's edge taking photographs.

As they headed down the access ramp a Seagull that was stood on top of a promenade lamp laughed at them.

Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog walked to the water's edge, drawn to the sea like a river.

Boats and Planes.

Sunrise at 5-59am.

The sun rose from its bed on the horizon and reached out an orange arm across the sea; Beach Buoy grabbed it.

There was a sunrise seeker to the north and the photo lady aka

distant wave lady was down by the grey rocks.

They headed up to the dune edge and sat down on the slightly frosted sand.

The distant wave lady passed at the water's edge and waved distantly, with a "Morning." thrown in for good luck.

Beach Buoy did the same.

Beach Buoy drank some coffee and headed  back to the sea.

Two ladies were heading south too, but turned part-way along the beach and headed back.

Seven Oyster Catchers and a Crow pecked at the strand line.

The Crow looked like their minder.

The Bay looked splendid in the morning sunlight.

They stacked the stack.
There was
Sea,
Sun,
Sea Serpent,
Skylarks singing... super.
The headed for the North Gare Pier via the dune edge.
They reached the pier at 7 am.

They were down by the riverside a few minutes later.

It was nice to have the tide so high.

Waves broke on the small beach that ran along the north riverside.

As ever there was lots of driftwood.

One had the look of ship's timbers.

It had a cut out of about six inches by two inches.

There was some rope.

There was some very heavy, large diameter rope.

It was around 30 metres long.

Beach clean mode.

The rope was coiled up as best as Beach Buoy could, before being flung over his shoulder.

They couldn't be much further from the promenade if they had tried.

Once they had done the up and down of the dunes the flat beach made more easy going.

Stubborn Dog wasn't much help at all really.

The rope was left on the promenade near to the Big Belly Bin.

Beach Buoy had a feeling that someone would take a shine to it.

It checked later on, it was gone.

Beach Buoy recorded the finds as the kettle went on the boil.

A Mermaid's Wedding Ring and a Piglet nose button were in the mix.

Another coffee; the kettle and the sea.

BEACH BUOY.
