ST. MARY'S ISLAND, WHITLEY BAY, 30 JUNE 2018.

The Italians wanted Rock Pools.
They turned down Hartlepool's Rock pools in favour of those at Whitley Bay's St. Mary's Island.

We arrived around 12 30.
The tide was well out.
The Sun was blazing down.
Beach Buoy got burnt.

Two for the price of one.

Returning with Rock pool finds.

BEACH BUOY.

SEATON SANDS. 30 JUNE 2018.

Beach Buoy and one Dog arrived at 6-16 am.
Four Magpies picked at a Bin in the Car Park, Beach Buoy wasn't sure if it was four for a Boy or two for Joy x 2.
A Tired looking White Camper Van slumbered in a corner of the Car Park.
It had been high tide an hour earlier.
The Day was overcast but the weather was mild

Beach Buoy headed South with his Dog on a lead as another Man headed North with his Beach buddy attached.
Two large Gulls picked the Strand-line.
They didn't fly off as Beach Buoy approached; maybe just thinking of Beach Buoy and his mate as fellow Beach pickers.
They were.

Beach Buoy walked as far as the Grey Rocks, passing a bit of a Lagoon being formed as he did so.

A Shadowy Ship slipped Port into an Overcast Sea and slowly disappeared into the narrow band of light that marked the Horizon, looking like a highlighter pen mark  through some important text.
Beach Buoy picked the small stubborn dog up and held him as they both looked out to Sea.
Seagulls sat on the water, beyond the breaking waves, they were rising and falling with the Sea's movement, looking all the World like scrunched up balls of Newspaper thrown out to Sea; Yesterday's News.

Beach Buoy thought it was time to be more picky with the finds he kept, as the shed is bursting at the seams.
These are some of those he left behind for others.

7-15 am saw the 7 am club on site.
By 7-20 am the Large Friendly Poodle was up for it's neck rub.
Beach Buoy and the Large Dog made eye contact and the Dog seemed to be saying "Hello my Mate."

As the walk ended  the Sun tried to break through the cloud cover as the temperature seem to instantly rise.
He placed his beach clean in the Magpie's Bin.

Beach Buoy had brought a Coffee in a thermal reusable cup.
He sat with the Car tailgate up next to the Dog
and drank his drink
and thought his think.

28 JUNE 2018. SEATON SANDS.

8-02pm
One Man with a Dog.
Nice Breeze off the sea on a Sunny night..
Sand Flies hopped about on drying Seaweed.
A Couple stood and watched a Red Ship go into Port.

Beach Buoy wandered aimlessly.

Paddling Dog walkers headed the other way.

The light was nice.

Even in Black and White.

Dune Grass.

Go to the Beach and Paws..

SEATON SANDS, 27 JUNE 2018.

One man. One Dog.
They arrived 8-01 pm
The Access ramp was busy, Giggling Girls leaving the beach.
A Father taking sand from a toddler's shoes whilst telling lies that the Shop is shut now.
There was a lovely refreshing Breeze off the Sea.
Down on the beach a young couple made a move.
The Boy couldn't be bothered to un-pop an pop-up tent.
He ended up carrying it on his back in the strong draught.
From a distance it looked like the girl was taking her favourite cushion for a walk.
Out in the Bay the angle of a Yacht at full sail, showed just how strong the cooling wind was.
Cushion Man headed up in the Dunes, like a man with a plan whilst the girl followed, just behind, looking not so sure of this "Plan."

A Man walked a Collie Dog that rounded up  invisible Sheep.
It reminded Beach Buoy of that Summer Job he had once on a large Farm doing a Sheep Census. He didn't last long..
One , Two, Three... zzzzzz

The Sun was lowering a little, anyone in the distance looked like Aliens leaving a Spacecraft.
Beach Buoy didn't check if they were or were not after they had passed him.

It was such a fresh night.
If Beach Buoy, house had a Beach View, the windows would be wide open; filling the house with cooling fresh Sea Air.
Then chilled enough to snuggle down for Bed.

SEATON SANDS. 24 JUNE 2018.

Beach Buoy and One Dog arrived 6-30am.
Two Seagulls where in the Car Park, walking side by side both doing kitten impressions.
The Council Workers turned up and carried out their excellent work.
There was to be an Official Beach Clean today.
The Strand line was undefined today.
The Little Stubborn Dog sniffed that air as if doing a Big Dog Risk Assessment or was it last night campers making breakfast.
The Tees Tugs came out to guide in a Ship.
A Skylark sang out over the Beach rather than the dunes as it normally did.
Beach Buoy rested up against one of the World War Two defence blocks. They laid in a line, once a proud Snarl of Concrete Teeth, now they were just decaying and leaning at all angles.
A Dentist's nightmare or a New Car?
Beach Buoy closed his eyes and relaxed.

A Large Green Plastic Box was carried back to the prom; part of a beach clean along with cans and bottles.
A sticker on the box stated.
PACK AND SEA.

The Clouds hid the Eager Sun.

The Two rested on the Promenade wall.
They watched the world go by.
A Jogger in black came off the Beach via the ramp.
He stopped running at the Ramp.
He walked up, hands on hips.
He had headphones on, in his own world.
He got to the top of the ramp and said out loud to the outside world....
"F***ER!"

SEATON SANDS 23 JUNE 2018, SECOND VISIT.

Two Dogs and Beach Buoy arrived 19-45.
The tide was well out.
There was a breeze from the South - East.
A Man and Boy sent beeps across the Beach with their metal detectors.
A Border Collie ran way ahead of it's owners, waiting; eventually, for them to catch up.
Once they had it was off again like a priest at an empty Church looking for the flock.
He was later spotted chasing Seagulls along the water's edge... The Collie not the Priest!

The recent History of the Beach revealed itself as the three walked along.
Big Boots.
Small Shoes.
Big Dog Paws.
Little Dog Paws.
Dinosaur!.. sorry,
Even Bigger Dog Paws.
Bare Feet.
Flat feet.

A Family group walked by, lead by the older teenage reluctant Beach walker.
One night out that won't show up on Bookface.

Up on the edge of the Dunes a tip of a Tepee type Tent stood proud of the Sandy Banks.
A group were camping tonight.
A black folding chair sat  determinedly between two delves in the Dunes, looking out to Sea.
The best seat in the House, waiting to be claimed.

A White Pale Moon sat up in the Whiter Clouds as if in disguise; as it does from time to time, waiting to claim the short night sky as it's chance to shine.

They headed back; sad to be leaving but the view was worth it.

Some Dog walkers had appeared from the Dunes.
Beach Buoy wondered what their particular story was as their Silhouettes  walked towards the light.

Nature can be cruel but it can also be beautiful.
The Slowly Lowering Sun cast a stunning light on the water trapped by the actions of the waves.

BEACH BUOY.

SEATON SANDS 23 JUNE 2018

Beach Buoy had stayed up so late that it was light.
He headed for the Beach instead of Bed.
A lone (One for Sorrow.) Magpie hopped along the Promenade Wall.
it was around 4-50 am.

Beach Buoy and one Dog headed for the water's edge.
The light was Gorgeous.
They headed South.
The tread on Beach Buoy's boots was holding then releasing sand as he walked; spreading it in front as he walked; disturbing the Sand Flies.
Just ahead two Sanderlings did a runner, their little legs scampering them to safety.

They walked as far as the Gare and paused.
They had the Sand Martins and the Skylarks for early morning company.
Beach Buoy paused and looked out to Sea,as he did a nearby rock pool burst it's banks and the sound of running water joined with the sound of the Sea.
it was like some body had just turned on a tap to fill a Bath.

SEATON SANDS. 22 JUNE 2018.

First Port of Call for Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog was the newly unveiled Sea Glass Sculpture at Seaton  Reach, Seaton Carew.

The Sculpture is by local artist Stuart Langley
Stuart Langley.

The two arrived down on the Beach at 8-45 to be welcomed by an Angel Cloud and the Moon.
Down on the Beach it looked like the Three Little Pigs had been on a day trip; only the Sand Castle edged with Bricks was still standing.

It was a Lovely Evening. People were still just coming out of the Sea, then heading for the Dunes with their towels and clothes.

The waves edged in. The Sun refused to give up.

The Sun.
The two returned to the Car Park.

A Lone Shoe; a prank on-going?
In the Car Park People sat in cars having contained conversations.
Boys in cars watched Girls playing Car Park Football.

SEATON SANDS 21 JUNE 2018 .. THE LONGEST DAY.

BEACH BUOY AND TWO DOGS ARRIVED 20-26.
THE SUN HAD GONE TO SALTBURN, AS IT OFTEN DOES ON AN EVENING.
LONG CLOUDS STRETCHED ACROSS THE BAY AS IF IN CELEBRATION OF THE LONGEST DAY.

A SMALL DARK BOAT CROSSED THE BAY FROM RIGHT TO LEFT... SOUTH TO NORTH.
SPILLS OF SEA SPREAD IN FILLING UP THE LOW LYING AREAS OF THE CONSTANTLY CONTOURED BEACH.

DOG  TWO LOOKED UP TO THE DUNES, WHERE AROUND TWENTY TEENAGERS STOOD; TALKING.
THE SUN HAD RETURNED FROM SALTBURN AND  GILDED THE BEACH AT SEATON CAREW.

BEACH BUOY STOPPED AND  STOOD. FACING THE SUN.

IN HEAVEN,
IT WOULD  ALWAYS BE THE LONGEST DAY.
THERE WOULD BE SEA,
SAND,
SUN
AND A DOG.
