31 AUG. 2024. A BIKE RIDE AND SN ENCOUNTER.

A bike ride.

Seaton Carew to Middleton Pier.

Toilets.

Yes but now you need a bank card or app.

And ... No Ladies and Gents.

Just Toilets...

The Brass Monkey Sea Swimmers.

Looking across to Hartlepool Headland at low tide.

Sign for The Smallcrafts  Association.
Once known as
The Prince of Wales .

Back along the Pier.
Beach Buoy won't be able to leave it forty years anymore.

It was deserted...

Or maybe not.
Beach Buoy had intended to go to the end of the Pier.
He stopped.

He watched the bird.
It was a Heron.
The setting was everything.

It felt very special.
It was...

It will stay with him forever.

Fisherman on the Pier ...

Dad would have loved living here.

Middleton Beach.
THE
 beach.

The older section of wall was one a Blacksmith Shop.

It would later be used to store the rocket apparatus etc.

Used on shipwreck rescue.

Did Beach Buoy's Great Grandfather called in here to collect the equipment as he rushed to the wreck of Trio in 1901?

BEACH BUOY.

31. AUG. 2024. SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog reached the beach at 6 a m

A lady was stood with her Labrador on The Esplanade.

"Morning."

"Morning."

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed south.

Sunrise seekers sat up in the dunes.

The 7 a.m club joined Beach Buoy.
They walked and talked their way along.

The Sun rose.

The 7 a m. Club headed back.
Off for a sea swim with the brass monkey swimmers.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed to Stubborn Dog Stack.

Sunlight on the "easy" route.

"Morning Mate."
It was 6-31.
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
He sat watching the beach below.
A man and Labrador headed north.
The lady who was up on The Esplanade walked south.
Two other ladies with two others Labradors had joined her.

It was a beautiful morning.

Another Dog.
A good companion.

Beach Buoy just sat...

Eventually they headed back.

"See you mate."

Sledge tracks from last night's stone heist.

As they headed north, others passed either side.
The man with three dogs to the left
Team Muzzled Dog to the right.
"Morning."
"Morning."

Back to the van.
Beach Buoy stopped to chat to Mr.Gunn / Lunn on The Esplanade.

Beach Buoy made a milky coffee in the van as the man who walks the perimeter of the car park did just that.

Not Beach Buoy headed north along The Esplanade.

BEACH BUOY.

Friday 30 August 2024

SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL 30, AUG. 2024.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog reached the beach at 6-46 p.m.
It was a bright and in places busy.
There was a lovely breeze from the south east, blowing across the sea.

They headed south.
Three horse riders headed up the beach access ramp.
The tide was well out.
A large group of teenagers stood at the top of the highest dune.
A metal detectorist detected.

A couple that had been heading northwards paused.
They watched as a Ship took aim at the river mouth.
Up ahead, two seemed to be picking at the grey rocks?

Beach Buoy and Another Dog climbed the big slope.
Part way along the "easy" route, Beach Buoy glanced down to the beach below.

A Dad and lad were dragging two sledges of stones / rocks.
It looked like they were going all the way back to the car park?

It seemed odd
A Tractor spends much of the morning bringing stones to the south as it clears the "tourist" end of the beach.

7-16.
"Evening Mate."
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
He sat on the driftwood wedge about a metre long.
He sipped fizzy water.
Another Dog laid nearby, sniffing the air as she watched the "easy" route for incoming.

Beach Buoy took out the binoculars.
No dolphins.
He did count around two dozen motorhomes/camper vans over at South Gare.

"See you mate."
They headed back.

They walked a slow walk back.
Gulls travelled from dune to sea.

Another photo shoot by the sea.
The models looked to be dressed in wedding attire this time?

A horse and rider headed to the dunes.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed to the van.

BEACH BUOY.

JUST A BIKE RIDE. 30, AUG. 2024.

Friday, 30, AUG. 2024. SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL.

Beach Buoy was up by 5 a.m.
Coffee.
Sit.
Think.
6-10 a.m he and Another Dog were on the beach.

He chatted to a lady with a bouncy dog.
They talked about phone cameras and filters.
Beach Buoy told her about Snapseed.

Overnight campers had a beach bonfire.

The tide was well out.
The breeze from the west was slight.

Another lovely morning.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog walked the strand-line.
The lady with the bouncy dog walked the water's edge, taking photographs as she went.

They headed south.
Plenty of space.

Sea Pottery.

Team one black ear walked by the sea.
Very distant waves were shared.

As they walked the "easy" route, the Sun slipped into cloud.

167 Gulls took flight as the lady who walks the length of the beach did so

"Morning Mate."
It was 6-52.
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
He sat on the driftwood wedge about a metre long.

He sat sipping fizzy water watching a still sea.

"See you mate."
They continued south.

Approaching Sand Martin Corner.

After a mooch, they headed back.
The man who once had four dogs passed by with three on tow.

"Morning."
"Morning."
"Alright?"
"Yes, it's good to have some beach to walk on."
They went their separate ways.

Like a train on a track, Beach Buoy and Another Dog followed the tractor route back.

Team Muzzled Dog passed by, heading south.
They chatted briefly.
They went their separate ways.

A rumble approached.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog stepped to one side.

The Surf Rake trundled by, following it's alien tracks.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog went back to the tracks.
Back to the van.

BEACH BUOY.

Thursday 29 August 2024

SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL. 29, AUG. 2024.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog reached the beach at 7-11 p.m.
It was quite busy, very bright with a breeze from the west.

A metal detectorist desended the beach access ramp ahead of them.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog followed, passing a man with a Pot on his leg.
He was sat smoking on the wall that also led to the beach.
The metal detectorist worked the strand-line.
There was another working the water's edge.

The strand-line detectorist.

Nearby, a lady just sat on the sand, watching the world go by.

They headed south.
The sun was already quite low in the sky.
Their long sunshine shadows could almost touch the sea.

Loud teenagers populated areas of the dunes.
Their wings will be clipped soon.
Schools will be starting back.

There was lots of clear sky.
Beach Buoy was hopeful of a dramatic sunrise in the morning.

At the bottom of the big slope, Beach Buoy was both surprised and delighted to see Sand Martins swoop.

They climbed the slope.

A glance to the north showed how low the sun was in the sky.

"Evening Mate."
 It was 7-41.
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
He sat on the driftwood wedge about a metre long.
He drank fizzy water.
A pleasant breeze blew onto his back.

"See you soon."

They returned along the "easy" route.

A slow walk back.

Another beach done and dusted.
