Many years ago, before Stubborn Dog and Another Dog, there was Bonnie.
There was no van, but there was an orange coat.
Beach Buoy would sometimes walk along the footpath that runs alongside and eventually over the golf course.
On early summer mornings, before sunrise rabbits would be out feeding.
A glimpse of Beach Buoy and Bonnie and they were gone. Cotton tails disappearing into the dune edges.
One day a rabbit stayed.
It hopped along in front of Beach Buoy and Bonnie.
It wasn't bothered at all.
It hopped down onto the beach, as if it wanted to see the sea.
There was a fisherman down at the water's edge.
He turned.
He looked at the rabbit.
He looked at Beach Buoy.
Beach Buoy looked at the fisherman.
He looked at the rabbit.
He did a head scratch and theatrical shrug of the shoulders.
Both men shook there heads.
It was one curious incident.
It was one curious rabbit.
BEACH BUOY.
