SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL, 21 OCT 2022.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog reached the beach car park at 3-55 p.m.
They had walked to the beach.
They headed down to the sands via a staircase, just north of the access ramp.
It was a grey day.
One would expect a chill but if anything it was muggy.
Once they had descended the few steps to the beach it became clear that a refreshing light breeze was blowing from the south.

The tide was well out.
Couples were dotted around the beach.
Some headed south.

Others headed north.

Beach Buoy was exhausted.
He paused regularly, he admired the view as well as having a rest.
He hadn't been sleeping well recently.

A group of three appeared from the south.
Two younger men carried a large piece of driftwood on their shoulders.
The older man of the group walked alongside, carrying a heavy looking load in a bag.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed slowly up to Stubborn Dog Stack.
The sandy slope that leads to the stack was becoming shorter and somewhat steeper as the sea claimed more and more of the dune edge.
Beach Buoy added some beach stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
"Afternoon Mate."
Beach Buoy sat on a large stone stack.
He drank coffee.
He snapped off some chocolate from a bar.
He watching the sea, the sky and people and dogs walking the beach below.
A couple walked by, Costa coffees in hand
Beach Buoy drank his, Costa nothing.
It was so relaxing sitting there.
If there had been a tent alongside Stubborn Dog Stack, Beach Buoy would have crawled inside and  had the best of sleeps.

Eventually it was time to go.
Beach Buoy made a few old man groans as he stood up from his chosen spot.

They wandered back slowly to the car park and beyond.

They said farewell to the beach for now.
