SEATON SANDS 05 JAN 2021. THE WALK THAT ALMOST WASN'T A WALK WALK.

Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog arrived at the car park at 3-39 p.m.

The golf club was closed again now due to the new restrictions.

After parking up Beach Buoy looked to the north.

He watched as the headland disappeared into gloominess as bad weather rolled into town.

'Wonder how long it will take to get here?' Beach Buoy asked himself.

Stubborn Dog said 'No time at all.' using his rolling eyes to communicate, as the first raindrops fell on the roof and windscreen of the van.

It poured down.

It stopped.

It poured down.

People scampered along the promenade.

To be honest Beach Buoy was going to give it up as a bad idea.

Then the rain stopped.

'Oh *#$* it.' thought Beach Buoy.

'Lets go!'

'Language!' thought Stubborn Dog.

Although the rain had stopped for now, a freezing north west wind blew.

People huddled behind The Hungry Seagull, to shelter from the wind and sip hot coffee from the mobile outlet.

A ship powered out of the river into the choppy bay.

Beach Buoy glanced to the north to try and gauge the progress, if any, of the rainfall.

Blue Emergency Lights, flashed along the sea front.

No siren could be heard due to the roaring sea.

The light was vivid due more to the gloominess of the weather than fading of the day.

Both the sky and the sea were lumpy and bumpy.

There was a lot of shingle on the beach today.

Beach Buoy picked up some sea pottery.

His fingers felt as blue as the colour of the decoration.

They stacked the stack.

They headed back.

The light began to go.

This was Beach Buoy's first afterwork beach walk for around three weeks, due to the holidays.

The sun would be setting around 15 minutes later than his last walk of this type. (After work.)

The wind seemed stronger, louder and even colder as the light faded.

They reached the promenade at the same time that The Hungry Seagull was locking up, ready to go.

In the end they dodged a soaking.

Beach Buoy was glad that the walk went ahead.

BEACH BUOY.
