15, MAY 2026. SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL.

 Friday afternoon.

To be honest Beach Buoy had readied himself to go to the Library.

Just because.

He was intending to just go through some old reference books.

Not quite like pipe and slippers but admittedly  a bit of Last of the Summer Wine.

Books about local history and the like.

Note pad and pen, he went to the front door.

There was Another Dog.

"You want to go out?"

Library cancelled.

Beach.

Another Dog is never keen to go to the beach.

She thought that she had blagged a walk around the block.

Little did she know...

They set off.

They finally reached the beach car park

at 1-59 p.m.

It felt like they had set off on Tuesday morning.

Another Dog had sniffed every blade of grass, every garden gate along the way.

Once she realised that they were heading for the beach, the brakes went on.

A battle of wills ensued.

Ten, yes ten minutes they stood.

Any slight tug to tempt Ruby towards the beach and she would turn into a late 1950s coffee table.

A leg pointing out over in each corner.

Beach Buoy buckled.

He picked Ruby up.

It was a baby carry.

Four coffee table legs were pointing straight up.

A triumphant but floppy head laid over Beach Buoy's arm.

They headed down the beach access ramp.

He placed Another Dog on the sand.
Nope!
Another baby carry.
He placed her on the sand once more.
He collected five suitable stones.

It wasn't a windy as such but the sea was wild.
The whole beach was a mass of sea foam.

A Concerned Little Tern Wardens monitored the threat to the nest site.
As it turned out, in an hour or so fencing was down.
Nests were ruined.

The tide was high.
The foaming sea has a run on it.

They headed to Stubborn Dog Stack via the dunes.

In places, Sea Buckthorn blocked the way.

More Baby carries ensued.

They found a way to the big slope.
Once on the "easy" route, Beach Buoy liberated a couple of sturdy stones from an earlier failed Beach Buoy project.
The sea foam looked like a horror film special effect as it crept into the dunes.
Beach Buoy could see the Poster on a Cinema Wall.
"It came from the deep!"

From the top of the Big Slope, Beach Buoy could see that a Crow was stood on one of the stack's giant pencils.

Behind the Crow, foaming waves rushed into Sand Martin Corner.

They made their way to the stack.

The Sea defence seemed to have made a bit of a difference?

"Afternoon mate."
It was 2-43.
He launched the two sturdy stones to the bottom of the small slope.

Beach Buoy added the five suitable stones.
He patted
THE
Stone.
He scattered some seeds for the Crows to have later.
He had a sit and a think on the driftwood seat with an elevated view.

Out in the bay, the Sea Serpent Marker seemed to be taking a battering.

"See you mate."
They continued south along the dunes
More Baby carries were required.

The seafoam was coming from all angles.

A man stood on North Gare Pier taking photographs of the angry sea.

Waves ran the length of the Pier.

Sea foam had rushed over the grey rocks.
A large pool of shivering grey sea foam blocked their path.
Another baby carry.

They headed down the cinder track that leads from North Gare Pier to the car park.

Bench overlooking the Tees.

Beach Buoy chatted to a man with a dog like Another Dog.

Stubborn?
Check.
Like a Cat in a dog suit?
Check.
HS the ability bti make itself twice as heavy is you pick it up.
Check.

Byways and Bridleways.

Along the track to Tees Road.

Cycle way too.

Steel River Curlew Sculpture.

BEACH BUOY.
