Beach Buoy and Another Dog ethe beach car park at 5-19 a.m.
Sunrise at 5-21 was a non-event.
Beach Buoy pulled up two hoods.
A cold breeze blew from the north across an empty beach.
Down at the water's edge, 104 Gulls decided that it was time to take flight.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed south.
They paused at the top of the big slope.
From the vantage point Beach Buoy surveyed the beach below.
No one.
They walked the "easy" route that meanders close to the dune edge.
They reached Stubborn Dog Stack.
5-44 a.m.
"Morning Mate."
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
A Sand Martin zipped by as Beach Buoy sat on the driftwood wedge about a metre long.
He drank coffee.
He sat and listened to the Sun's excuses.
Beach Buoy checked the tide times.
Low tide 6-06 a.m.
He decided to head to Sand Martin Corner.
"See you mate."
They headed back along the "easy" route.
They dropped down onto the beach before heading southwards once more.
Although it was almost low tide, the sea seemed to be reluctant to fully give up the beach.
The Sun tried it's best.
Beach Buoy searched the shingle scatter that ran across parts of the grey rocks.
He found a sea alley for his troubles.
Beach Buoy walked upto one of the steel sandy banks that the Sand Martins call home.
Burrows here, there and everywhere.
Beach Buoy looked directly overhead.
"Oh my God!"
The sky was full of very quick, very camera-shy Sand Martins.
Click.
Click.
Click.
He managed to capture some on photograph.
Then he put away he phone, setting them free to put on an airshow for Beach Buoy and his Dog.
Beach Buoy plonked himself down near the tank traps.
He drank coffee.
He watched the man with a rucksack and a Rottweiler, play at the water's edge.
In time he and his dog sat down near the tank traps.
Not too distant waves were shared.
No words.
None were needed.
Like-minded people doing like-minded things.
In time Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed back to the north.
Hands in pockets, hoods down.
The breeze was cold but the sea Lley find and the Sand Martins had warmed him.
The Sun broke free, sunshine shadows joined them for the walk back
The tide had turned.
It was heading back in.
A lady in an orange coat and an orange hat walked south by the sea with her Labrador.
Mr. Gunn/Lunn approached with Alfie.
They chatted.
Beach Buoy mentioned his first sea alley find for a while.
It turned out that Mr.Gunn/Lunn's brother wanted one.
Beach Buoy handed it over.
They went their separate ways.
Mr.Gunn/Lunn, Alfie and the sea alley headed south
Beach Buoy, Another Dog and an empty pocket headed north.
BEACH BUOY.
