Beach Buoy and Another Dog reached the park car park at 7-41 a.m.
A lady in a wet robe the colour of the sky headed for a sea swim.
They headed to the beach.
As they descended the northerly beach access ramp, five men in wooden hats marched north along the esplanade.
"Morning." said one of the group.
"Morning." said Beach Buoy.
The tide was a fair way out.
The Seaton Carew Wreck was half in, half out of the sea.
Two Sauna Tents were set up near The Esplanade for sea swimmers.
Purdy the little brown poodle passed by with her owner.
They chatted briefly before wishing each other well as they went their separate ways.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed south, up near the strand-line.
A jogger jogged the water's edge.
People and dogs were up ahead.
The sunrise arrived three minutes late thanks to the height of the hills.
The lady with dogs, Archie and Alfie walked the dune edge.
They are members of Team Mick Aston Jumper, they walked together alone today.
Alfie trotted over to say hello.
The sunlight lit up the seafront.
They headed up to Stubborn Dog Stack.
Beach Buoy saw his sunshine shadow.
For some reason today it looked like a ghost-in-waiting.
"Morning Mate."
Stones had been added.
Beach Buoy patted
THE
stone.
He set up the wobbly driftwood plank.
He set down his thermal mug of coffee alongside.
He sat down on the wobbly seat with a sea view
He unwound.
"HERE!"
"HERE!"
"HERE!"
A not so distant voice, back in the dunes sounded like it was shouting a bit too distant dog.
Beach Buoy stood in readiness for their arrival.
They never did
The calls went on, gradually fading.
Beach Buoy surveyed the beach
"See you mate "
They headed back to join beach folk doing beach folk "stuff."
A slow walk back.
Some walked the sands.
Others chose the water's edge.
People with their own agendas.
Some with no agenda at all.
Sea swimmers headed to and from the beach sauna tents.
Beach Buoy took a photograph to help with a drawing later.
BEACH BUOY.
