21, JAN, 2024. SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog arrived at the Park car park at 8-22 a.m.

Mr.Gunn/Lunn was already parked up.

His car must be O.K. today?

It had been very windy overnight, rain too.

It was just a breeze now, with no rain.

Three ladies with pointy hats walked south along the esplanade.

Rita the Meter Maid was walking along the sea front, checking each meter for returned coins as she passed.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed down to the beach.

The Sun cleared low cloud at 8-32 a.m.

The tide was way out.

A Mother, daughter and a Labrador jogged their way south by the sea.

Through squinting eyes, Beach Buoy could see the timbers of the wreck reaching up from the sand like fingertips .

Waiting to grab the next unsuspecting crew member.

The Seaton Carew Wreck.

The view back to the village.

A man headed north, his long sunshine shadow looked like it belonged in a travelling circus.

The lady with the Grumpy Greyhound passed by.

Nearby a boy drove a remote controlled car along the wet smooth sand.

The Grumpy Greyhound barked.

Ahead, the Sun was blazing.

The sound of dogs barking drifted from the area of The Rock Shop.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed up to Stubborn Dog Stack.

9-09 a.m.

"Morning Mate."

Beach Buoy added some stones.

He patted

THE

stone.

He drank a wobbly coffee on a wobbly driftwood plank.

He watched the sea.

A lone pebble with Legs picked at the water's edge.

An Oyster Catcher joined it.

In time, a second pebble with Legs appeared.

The two birds of a feather flew off together.

The Oyster Catcher stood alone, looking like a Priest after the wedding ceremony was over.

As Beach Buoy drank coffee, a couple passed on the narrow path in front of the stack.

They chatted.

Then a man walked the same route.

They chatted too.

It felt like Beach Buoy was sitting on The Seaton Carew version of The Salt Path.

It was nice.

Beach Buoy could quite happily sit there, drinking coffee all day long, talking to passers by.

It was time to go.

"See you mate."

They headed back to the beach.

Beach Buoy looked back.

Sun shone down on Stubborn Dog Stack.

Another Pebble with Legs.

They had a slow walk back.

Yachts in the bay.
The first that Beach Buoy had seen this year.
Dottie Dog and her mam headed south along the water's edge.
They had a lovely but sad chat.
Her other dog had passed away.
It's awful when you lose them.
They went their separate ways.

BEACH BUOY.
