SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL.28 JUNE, 2020.

Beach Buoy slid out of bed at 4-05 am;
wide awake but exhausted.
He sat there for half an hour using the bed as a backrest.
He eventually moved and headed downstairs.

They reached an empty car park at 5-05 am.
It was chilly.
His snood and VW Dut had been left at home.
Beach Buoy has spare everything.
He headed for the beach in a spare snood and his Alloa Athletic dut, he had another almost identical too; a spare spare.
Note.. In Hartlepool a Dut is a bobble cap without the bobble; referred to as a beanie in some places.
IT IS A DUT!

Rain fell gently.
His phone screen looked as if it had been covered in bubblewrap, as the droplets clung to the smooth screen.

As they stacked the stack the rain stopped.

They headed to the North Gare to see if all of the recent rainfall had caused havoc for the Sand Martins once more.
Everything looked to be OK

They headed back by the water's edge.
At the far end of the beach some swimmers entered the water.

They arrived back at the van just in time as the wind increased in speed as did the copycat rainfall.

Beach Buoy dried himself off with his blue and white fluffy towel.
Stubborn Dog was dried with his own grey towel.
The dog curled up and went to sleep underneath a hoodie; a spare hoodie.

Beach Buoy drank coffee and fell asleep to the sound of the rain on the van roof.

The sound of laughter woke him.
It was the swimmers returning to their vehicles.
The rain wasn't an issue to them, they were wet anyway.

The swimmers dried themselves with fluffy towels of their own and drove off.
Beach Buoy turned on the LED lights; it was a Turquoise day.

BEACH BUOY.
