SEATON SANDS 04 JUNE 2020 .

Beach Buoy and Stubborn set off for a slow walk to the beach.
Sixteen minutes later they were there.
A brisk walker could do it in well under ten.

It was one of those days when everyone seemed to arrive at the same time.
Another three groups had turned up within moments of each other and were all heading south.
Beach Buoy went into social distancing mode and stopped. He stood and watched  as all the others became dots in the distance.
He looked north to see a man with a tripod, in the distance at the water's edge.
At first Beach Buoy thought it was a fisherman; turns out photographs were all that he was catching.

It started to rain.

Beach Buoy sat on a damp driftwood bench.
Stubborn Dog laid nearby on matching damp sand.
They had a sit and think.
Beach Buoy grabbed a handful of stones and stacked the dune stack.

They headed back with the water's edge for company.

The beach was almost empty by now.
Some fishermen did pass as they headed south.
Perhaps you can spot them above?

The car park had random collections of young drivers in groups.
There was a first for Beach Buoy.
Usually they parked side by side, alternating between facing forwards and back. With windows down they can talk across four or five cars and at times share their wonderful taste in music.
Tonight's first was four cars, parked in pairs.
Each pair was parked rear end on to one another.
All cars had their boots (trunks) open.
Each boot had a young lady sat in it.
They were chatting away happily.
