SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL. 7, MARCH 2025.

Friday.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog arrived at Sandy Car Park before sunrise.

A lady in a bright red coat walked to the southernmost end of The Esplanade.

She turned, heading back to the north.

It transpired that the sunrise was going to take place out of view, from Seaton Carew that is.

Gulls took flight from the water's edge as people approached.

A metal detectorist did what metal detectorists do...

The 7 a.m. club, Team One Black Ear and a lady in a white coat and her dog all headed south.

The very very wet retriever and it's owner seemed to appear out of thin air.
The wet dog dropped it's ball near Beach Buoy.
"Morning."
"Morning. You're the only one that she will take her ball too."
"Brilliant!"
"Maybe because you have given her beach-found balls in the past?"
Beach Buoy felt like had just been given the beach equivalent of an Oscar.
He already had the Mari, the big friendly poodle "Bafta"

They didn't even wait for an acceptance speech.

The owner, the wet dog and it's ball headed south at a quicker pace than Beach Buoy.

The 7 a.m. club had turned back.
The lady in the white coat had decided to have and have a sit and think on a driftwood log.

The first of two Seals resting near the water's edge.

The man who once had four dogs but now has three overtook Beach Buoy and Another.
"Morning."
"Morning."

Three of four
Two of three had gone to see the Seal.
All was good.
Team One Black Ear caught up.
They chatted as far as the grey rocks.

A second Seal.
Resting up.

Beach Buoy gathered five suitable stones.
He headed for the low level route.

"Morning Mate."
It was 7 a.m.
Beach Buoy added the stones.
They were striking
He patted
THE
stone.

Sit and think time.

"See you mate."
They returned to the beach below.

Seal one resting.

Another metal detectorist scans the water's edge.

.
Three head north in a 1950s Post Card.

Car tailgate.
It was either three quarters of the way down the beach access ramp or one quarter of the way up it?
Beach Buoy carried it to an Esplanade Bin.
