SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL. 22, DEC. 2024.

 Just notes for now...

Beach Buoy, Borrowed Dog and Another Dog had walked to the beach.
They arrived at a bright and breezy beach at 10-37 a.m.
The breeze was from the north east and very fresh.

Lots of People and Dogs around.
Some family groups walked around like mobile groynes.

The tide was well out but the Seaton Carew Wreck was still at sea.

A Doodle Dog in a Maroon Onesie bounded over before running back to his mate the Whippet.

Beach Buoy collected stones for the stack as they walked towards it.

"Morning Mate."
Beach Buoy added some stones.

This was one of them.
He patted
THE
stone.

He sat on the double driftwood bench.

After a while to German Shepherds appeared.
They were well behaved.
Their owner called them and guided them beyond Stubborn Dog Stack without issue
"Thank you."
"No problem mate."

The man and his dogs walked the "easy " route back to the beach
It was clear that the dogs only had eyes for him.
Other beach goings on held no interest for them.

Beach Buoy took some stack photographs.
The one above is to the south, across the dunes
The light looked unusual.

This one to the west shows a distant oil rig as it waits to be dismantled.

"See you mate."

They returned northwards.
A family of three and a Pug led the way.

A man and his dog headed south.
They were wearing matching coats.

SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL.21,DEC. 2024.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog walked to the beach.

It was around 8-30 a.m.

On The Esplanade they bumped into the Litter Pick Lady and her White Scotty Dog that doesn't like Shih Tzu Dogs.

The lady collects beach-found toys for beach visitors to borrow.

She has 140 spades but only 8 buckets.

Beach Buoy had a blue plastic spade in his beach bag for her.

141 now.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed down the beach access ramp.

The young lady with the Yorkshire Terrier was just ending her walk.
They sometimes have a brief chat.
They did today.
Last time they had met Beach Buoy had mentioned going on fewer days at work.
He shared Geoff's story.
The date he would have retired.
The Gig.
The Awards.
The young lady was moved.
They went their separate ways.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed South.

The view north to the Village.

A Doodle Dog couldn't make it's mind up,
to say hello or not.
It came and went over and over.

A ship left the River as they walked the low level route to Stubborn Dog Stack.

"Morning Mate."
It was 9-13.
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.

He sat on the double driftwood bench.
He watched the sea.
Swirls of seacoal came and went along the water's edge.

In time.
"See you mate."

They returned to the lower level route.

Back to the van.
A man headed north with his two dogs.

The Sun shone. Their shadows joined them for the remainder of the walk.

20, DEC. 2024. SEATON SANDS. HARTLEPOOL.

Beach Buoy, Borrowed Dog and Another Dog reached the beach at 8-29 a m.
Once again it was ...
Park up Seaton Park.
Beach via the access ramp Infront of the beach huts.

The tide was well in.
There was an angry Sea on an otherwise calm day.
There was a breeze.
It came from the west.

On the strand-line, a man with five dogs stood chatting to a lady with one.

A Parcel of five Oyster Catchers stood by the water's edge.

The choppy sea ran in and out.

At times the sea's foam edges would try and catch the beach and dog walkers out.

A man with a Border Collie headed North along the water's edge.m
Another man also travelled northwards.
He walked just below the dunes, his Labrador just ahead of him.

Beach Buoy wandered up to the dunes.
The recent winds had been a pain.
On the plus side, the wind-blown sand had built up against the dune edge.

Others headed back.

"Morning Mate."
It was 9-09.
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.

He sat a while on a double driftwood bench.
He watched  the sea as others would watch the flames of a fire.

"See you mate."
Down the small slope onto the beach below.

They headed back
On the water's edge, eleven Pebbles with Legs did the hokey cokey.

The water's edge.
The tide was going out.

Getting in the groove.

Starlings or Seacoal.

Back at the Blog Office, it was a combined office party and early spring clean.

SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL. 19, DEC. 2024.

Beach Buoy, Borrowed Dog and Another Dog parked up in Seaton Park at 8-25 a.m.

Rita the meter maid led the way to The Esplanade.

As usual she was getting her steps in as she checked for returned coins.

8-31.

Beach Buoy and the dogs had reached the beach.

The man who walks from his sea front house to the sea wearing only shorts did just that.

He takes no towel.

Once swim is done, he drips his way back home in all weathers and a pair of wet shorts.

The air was cold.

There was a breeze from the north west.

Two hoods were up.

Beach Buoy's face was half covered with a snood.

The tide was a canny way in.

The Seaton Carew Wreck would be keeping it's secrets this visit.

They headed south.

The Sun was just about to clear land.

Windows over on Hartlepool Headland turned to Gold.

The Moon hung over the Clock Tower like a "Yonder Star."

Even though the tide was more in than it has  been of late, people and dogs all had their space.
Milo, the Labrador was taking centre stage but "all was calm, all was bright."

They headed towards the Dazzling Sun.

Beach Buoy lowered two hoods.
It was still cold but the usually welcome blinkering effect of the raised hoods combined with the bright sunlight felt a little claustrophobic.

Which is not a fear of Father Christmas.

The Sun rose higher, it's what Suns do.
Beach Buoy looked back to the north.

His sunshine shadow was so long, it looked like it had decided to stay in the van.

A man and his dog, a Border Collie, appeared from the south.
They headed northwards along the water's edge.

Beach Buoy and the dogs walked the low level route to Stubborn Dog Stack.

The sea was the very best of blues.

Beach Buoy collected five beach stones for Stubborn Dog Stack.

"Morning Mate."
It was 9-05.
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
He sat on the double driftwood bench.
He just watched the waves.

"See you mate."
They slid back down the small slope back onto the beach below.

It could and should have been a nice quiet walk back.

Let's skip a detailed Billy  Big-mouth encounter.
Ten times that dog came over, causing hassle
Ten.

"Here Boy!"
again and again and again.
Hence no heading back photographs.

They headed to the Esplanade.

A man cycled by.

"Morning, by it's quiet isn't it, think everyone is out shopping."

"Morning."

Gone...

Down on the beach it looked like a man was was walking with a silver cane.

It shone in the bright morning light.

Thwack!

It turned out to be a golf club.

An unusual ball launcher for his dog.

Beach Buoy hoped beyond hope that the dog was called Bunker...

Just a reminder.

Try to make a note of the beach code number..it will come in helpful should you need to call for help.

If you are calling for medical help, maybe be worthwhile thinking about the coastguard service?

Years ago there was a lady with a broken ankle, half way along the beach

She had tripped over her dog.

They had been told two hour wait for an Ambulance.

Even then it was a trek to reach the lady.

Beach Buoy had ran to the van to get the lady water.

He asked a lady in high Viz if she was a medic.

Turned out that she was Coastguard Rescue.

They were doing an exercise nearby.

Within five minutes their truck and medics were with the lady.

Shortly afterwards she was driven to hospital.

"Why didn't they call us?"

asked the hi viz lady.

SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL. 18, DEC. 2024.

Just Beach Buoy and Another Dog today.

They reached Seaton Park just before

9 a.m.

They had chatted to Mr.Gunn/Lunn in the car park.

Beach Buoy petted Excellent Dog Alfie as they talked.

They had just finished their circular walk of around four miles

They went their separate ways.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed to the Esplanade.

"Morning." said a lady.

She had a Stubborn looking dog with her.

"Morning."

They confirmed both dogs were Lhassa Appso and Stubborn.

Beach Buoy told the story of the Stubborn Dog Stack.

"Oh all of those stones, l have heard about them."

They went their separate ways.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed to the beach.
It was 9-05 a.m.
It was windy and very mild.
The gusting wind came from the south east.

A man headed south.
His Chocolate Labrador led the way.

To the south, a lady walked two small dogs.

Up ahead, Beach Buoy could see that the sea had just cleared The Seaton Carew Wreck.

The wreck today.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog wandered along the blowy beach.
He collected five beach stones for the stack as he walked.

It was one of those days when, at times, the sea and sky looked to be completely different colours.
So often they seem to mirror one another.

A lady and her Spaniel walked northwards by the sea.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog made their way to Stubborn Dog Stack.

They went the low level route.
Another Dog scampered her way up the small slope ahead of Beach Buoy.
She preceded to back kick sand at Beach Buoy as he climbed up the slope.

"Morning Mate."
Beach Buoy brushed the sand from his coat.
He added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.

He sat on the double driftwood bench.
He made notes in his beach book.
A large confused fly landed the book.
Gone in an instant.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog stayed longer.

In time.
"See you mate."
They slid down to the beach below.

A coffee drinking couple had turned at the grey rocks.
They and their dog were now heading back to the village.

A human "groyne." walked southwards.
The "Groyne turned as one.
They headed to the dune edge.

The "Groyne " turned out to be seven colourful hikers.
They climbed the big slope after pausing at it's base to adjust rucksacks.

The wind seemed to have picked up?

A Gull seemed to put on a show for Beach Buoy and Another Dog.
It hung twisting in the air right near them.
It looked like one of those stunt kites from Beach Buoy's childhood.
The teenage years.

Another Gull rose from the nearby rocks.
It had a scrap of food and seven more Gulls in hot pursuit.
The food was dropped.

Bing Bong.
Another site message drifted off to sea.

10-15.
Wednesday.
Local sites tested their alarms.

They passed the wreck once more on the way back.
The tide was still going out.

The Sun briefly  shone a little more brightly.

Sunshine shadows joined them.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed to The Esplanade.
The council tractor driver was in his cab.
Possibly wondering just where the sand would snake to next?

They crossed the road to the park.

A wind-blown Union Jack was flapping, wrapped around a
KEEP LEFT SIGN
◀️
🇬🇧

Beach Buoy wondered if the wind was giving out political advice now?

SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL. 17, DEC. 2024.

Beach Buoy, Borrowed Dog and Another Dog reached Seaton Park at 8-07 a m

They headed to The Esplanade.

It was 8-15.

A lady jogger headed northwards along The Esplanade.

She was trying to jog and text at the same time.

 Something had to give.

It wasn't working.

Beach Buoy and the dogs headed to the beach.
It was mild.

A breeze blew from the south west.
Spots of rain were carried in the breeze.

In time, spots of rain became rain
Two hoods went up.

A man walked northwards with two dogs. One of them wore an illuminated collar like the
 "Colgate ring of confidence."

Beach Buoy wondered, what with the rain and the hint of a sunrise, if there was any chance of a rainbow?
He turned to the north.

Every chance.

He could see the fingers of the wreck up ahead.

Ship timbers.

The Wreck and The Rainbow.

They continued to the south, Gulls stood facing the breeze and the rain.

Beach Buoy searched shingle.

Shingle became ripples in the sand.

One half of the Beachcombing Border Collie Couple headed northwards with his dog.

Gulls seemed to want to lead the way.

The rain stopped.

Out in the bay a ship passed between The Gares, heading down River.

A man with a Chocolate Brown Labrador, headed up the big slope.

Beach Buoy and the dogs took the lower  beach route to Stubborn Dog Stack.

"Morning Mate."
It was 8-55.
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
He sat on the double driftwood bench.
Although it was mild, the rain had wet Beach Buoy's hands.
He cupped them like a sea shell and blew into them to warm them.

The sound of Industry rumbled down the river.
Beach Buoy had passed over that baton now.

Bing Bong.
An unheard announcement drifted across a distant site in the breeze.

After the initial hint of brightness it was somewhat  dull.
Beach Buoy sat watching the flashing lights of the bay.
Checking their patterns of flashing.

Hartlepool Headland.
One Apple
Five Apple and
One Apple
Five Apple and

All present and correct.

He checked South Gare Pier.
Six Apple and Seven,
Six Apple and Seven
Six Apple and Seven

All ok.

"See you mate."

Beach Buoy had decided to continue to Sand Martin Corner via the dune edge.

A man with a Border Collie headed north along the water's edge.
A lady with a Spaniel did the same.

North Gare Pier.
Beach Buoy mooched in Sand Martin Corner shingle.
Nothing of interest today.

They turned to head back.

Overhead a Crow and a Gull argued over whose breakfast it was
The Crow won.

Distant wave to Stubborn Dog Stack as they passed on the beach below.

There was another ball-launching and blabbermouth show.

Top tip for Blabbermouths, don't bother doing a daft voice when calling your dog.
You are still a BLABBERMOUTH.

Less said the better.
Beach Buoy doesn't want to become Seaton Carew's  own Victor Meldrew.
Maybe it's too late?

Beach Buoy's coat had dried from the earlie rain thanks to the constant breeze.

A couple and their dog swapped sea for car park.

Beach Buoy and the dogs walked the strand-line.
But........

Tracks!
He just had to walk in-between the tracks.

A band of Seacoal crossed from the strand-line to the sea.

The council tractor returned more wind-blown sand to its rightful owner.

Beach Buoy and the dogs returned to the van.
The village church bells rang for 10 a.m.
as they climbed the beach hut access ramp.
