Beach Buoy and Another Dog reached the beach car park at 6-23 a.m.
It was mild after overnight rain.
They headed to the strand-line.
Gulls cried.
What light that there was up above, showed it to be a cloudy sky.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed south.
The 4x4 Border Collie Couple went from being shoreline silouettes, to people heading back to the car park
Walk done.
Another Dog kept looking back as though they were being followed.
They weren't.
They passed the Seaton Sands Sundial.
Or maybe it was just an optimistic driftwood stick stuck in the sand?
Time would tell.
The sea was calm.
About ten to twelve metres offshore, a Seal popped up.
It seemed travel alongside them for a while at almost walking pace.
The phone came out for a photograph and it was gone.
Driftwood art.
THE WAVE.
Flashing lights to the north near the grey rocks became the 7 a m. Club.
"Morning Paul."
"Morning."
"What a lovely morning it is too."
They chatted briefly as Mari the big friendly poodle received a neck scratch.
They went their separate ways.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed to Stubborn Dog Stack.
"Morning Mate."
It was 7-05.
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
He fetched the wobbly driftwood plank.
He sat down with a coffee and Another Dog.
He waited for the sunrise.
He waited for the sunrise.
He waited for the sunrise...
Once again it went unseen.
He had remembered to bring the coffee but had forgotten to pack the Sun.
It was October now but small black flies drifted by.
A Gulp of Ten Cormorants flew south together.
They often travel alone.
A Parcel of Oyster Catchers flew a semicircle north as a Solitude of Beach Buoys looked on.
A man with a bald head and a beard headed south on the beach below.
He hadn't seen Beach Buoy and Another Dog up at Stubborn Dog Stack.
It's the bright orange camouflage that does it.
7-20
Still no sunlight.
To the North imaginary people had gathered around the planted driftwood stick.
They discussed if a sundial was still a sundial when there was no sun?
Another Dog became restless.
Wanting to go.
Beach Buoy stood up.
He stretched his arms out wide.
A Human Wind Turbine.
He put his hands on his head.
He left them there for a while.
Just because.
"See you mate."
They went to the Sandy Slope.
Mr.Gunn/Nunn approached with his smashing little dog, Alfie.
They chatted as Alfie enjoyed a shoulder rub from Beach Buoy.
They had seen the Seal too.
"See you later."
They returned Northwards.
A man with a red bandana and a black greyhound headed south.
The Beachcombing Border Collie couple were next.
Team Muzzled Dog followed.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog dawdled along.
Soon the Beachcombing Border Collie couple were back, to the north.
The red bandana man too.
Above the dunes, the Moon did a double shift, making up for the missing Sun .
BEACH BUOY.
