Beach Buoy and Another Dog arrived at the beach car park at 5-57 p.m.
By the time they had reached the beach access ramp, the village church bells were ringing out five and six of the six 6 p.m.bells.
A colourful couple headed north.
The bay looked pale.
Lemon to the north.
Pale blue to the south.
It was cooler than it had been for a few days..the breeze from the west came via Autumn.
A couple with a large dog had come down the access ramp just behind Beach Buoy and Another Dog.
In next to no time the couple were way ahead in the journey southwards
Beach Buoy and Another Dog dawdled.
A Weary Wednesday rested an arm of peach along the horizon.
"Evening Mate."
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
It was 6-26 p.m.
Beach Buoy placed the wobbly driftwood plank on the stack.
He sat.
He thought.
He drank coffee and ate a "fun" sized Mars bar.
The red flashing light on the Sea Serpent Marker came to the fore as the light faded more and more.
The sky was wonderful.
Beach Buoy stood to go.
"See you mate."
He replaced the wobbly driftwood plank in the Marram grass.
Back to the beach.
The slow walk back.
The first of the evening's beach torches twinkled in the distance.
Beach Buoy lit Another Dog's flashing lights that are attached to her harness.
He lit a torch of his own
It was fastened to his orange coat.
It swung in irregular patterns as they progressed along the darkening beach.
They reached the van.
Beach Buoy slid the van side door open.
He sat on the van's side step changing his footwear, the village church bells ran for 7 p.m.
BEACH BUOY.
