It was Thursday evening.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog reached the beach car park at 7-15 p.m.
The southern side of the Little Tern nest site ran towards the sea.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed there at a slower pace.
A man with a beard and a lady with sand in her shoes came up the access ramp.
The lady took off her shoes, one at a time to empty her shoes of sand. The man kept his beard.
A few minutes later Beach Buoy and Another Dog were on sand.
The tide was way out.
A blowy breeze that wasn't quite a wind blew from the south west.
It was overcast.
It was very mild despite the breeze and cloud.
A couple, both wearing large white training shoes headed north on the dune edge.
They whistled an invisible dog as they walked.
The beach was vast, thanks to tide.
Beach Buoy did a head count.
No more than half a dozen in total on the beach.
Someone walked the water's edge.
They seemed to be having a lovely time?
A jogger trundled along to the south.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog dawdled along in the same direction.
Random sunlight lit up the hills behind the Steel Works, making the industrial silhouettes look even more industrial.
Two Magpies; Sorrow and Joy were causing havoc up in the dunes.
Beach Buoy gathered some beach stones for Stubborn Dog Stack.
"Evening Mate."
Beach Buoy added the stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
He watched as another jogger headed south, then north, then south and finally north.
"See you mate "
They went back to the beach, heading north.
They walked the strand-line.
Beach Buoy spotted a colourful looking tube.
He picked it up.
He recognised it as the type of tube that may supplied when a pet's ashes were returned, having received something similar when Stubborn Dog was brought to the beach for the last time.
He looked at the base.
There was the name of a pet and a date.
The tube was empty, it was the base.
A few steps later he found the lid.
****** was now part of the sea and sand.
BEACH BUOY.
