Beach Buoy and Another Dog reached the beach car park at 7-07 a.m.
A French plated motorhome looked as if it had been parked overnight.
Two sea swimmers dried themselves alongside their cars, having had an earlier dip.
They headed for the sea.
The tide was more in than it was out.
Big Black Clouds hung behind the village.
They had only just reached the water's edge when the breeze picked up.
Rain on the way ?
The Distant Wave Lady was up to the south, near the Grey Rocks.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog walked along the water's edge.
Even though the Sun was partially hidden behind cloud, it's heat could be felt.
A lady passed with a black dog.
The little dog did zoomies to and from
Another Dog as it had done a few days earlier.
The Distant Wave Lady was heading back on the water's edge.
Beach Buoy drifted over to the strand-line to give her some space.
Their paths crossed anyway, each making a fuss of the others dog.
"See ya.".
"See ya "
"Have a nice day."
A man headed south on the strand-line.
He walked with his arms out slightly as though trying to balance on imagined tightrope. He reached the grey rocks then turned 180 degrees, back to the north.
Beach Buoy gathered five stones for Stubborn Dog Stack.
They climbed the sandy slope.
As they did so, the sun burst through.
It felt like a brass band should start playing, to herald their arrival.
Skylarks sang instead.
"Morning Mate."
Beach Buoy added the stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
He sat on a stack stone and drank coffee with a view.
The sea sparkled to the south.
A small boat crossed the bay quickly as if on a sparkle hunt.
A Reed Warbler sat nearby and sang them a song of the sea .
Coffee drank, they headed back to the sandy slope to reach the beach.
A carpet of Bird's Foot Trefoil had flowered close to the stack.
Sea Holly was close by.
They headed back to the north.
The Sun was so bright.
The clouds to the west so dark.
Two ladies passed, heading north .
Both wore very very very light blue coats.
A man with a Spaniel came down the access ramp.
They had last talked around a year ago, up at the stack, not long after Stubborn Dog's ashes were placed there.
Back then the two Strangers shared dog loss stories.
"Morning ."
"Morning "
as though it was only yesterday that they had last night chatted.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog walked the Promenade, noting it's signage.
Back to the van.
It looked like some were having a sleep in, as dramatic clouds drifted by to the west?
BEACH BUOY.
