They pulled into the car park at
9-42 a.m.
They being;Beach Buoy, Borrowed Dog and Another Dog.
The lemon-coloured driving school car was there once more, squeezing in between imaginary cars as the lesson took place.
Beach Buoy parked the van in its usual spot.
Mr. Gunn / Nunn was parked a few spaces along in his own usual spot.
They headed down the beach access ramp.
A man was beach cleaning as his Whippet sniffed.
The Village Church Bells rang out for 9-45.
They headed towards the sea.
The tide was about much in as it was out.
It almost felt like a summer's day.
Beach Buoy did a head count;
Twelve people in view on a vast expanse of beach.
Very acceptable.
It wasn't cold, in fact the breeze could described as pleasant.
Nevertheless, Beach Buoy's hands slipped into his pockets as he and his canine companions walked towards the south.
Stubborn Dog Stack was up ahead.
The pleasing breeze blew onto Beach Buoy's face as they progressed along the stunning sands.
The sea was bluest sea blue that Beach Buoy had seen in a good while.
A couple and their dog were up ahead doing the shingle stoop.
Beach Buoy gathered some beach stones before heading to the stack.
"Morning Mate."
He placed the recently collected stones onto the stack.
He patted
THE
stone.
He watched as the beachcombing couple turned to head north with their bagful of swag.
An Invisible Skylark sang and sang overhead.
Beach Buoy closed his eyes and imagined.
"See you mate."
They returned to the beach via the sandy ramp in the dune edge.
It was glorious.
They left a deserted south behind.
They headed north on the water's edge.
Three people were up ahead.
They had been heading south but had chosen a random spot on the beach to turn 180 degrees and head back.
Beach Buoy figured that they were the winning contestants in a little publicised
World's Biggest Wooly Hat Competition.
First, second and third going out for celebratry beach walk.
The breeze gusted into a temporary wind.
It shook a car in the car park to the west.
The car alarm sounded out.
A short while later it was a wind, not a breeze that came from the south east.
Shifting sands snaked along the beach.
Beach Buoy and the dogs climbed the access ramp.
Just as they were reaching the top, a lady gave the warmest of waves as she pulled up in her car.
Beach Buoy didn't know her.
Luckily somehow he fought the automatic urge to wave back.
Luckily because she was waving to her friend that was nearby.
"You've got a new car "
Well maybe that explained the excited waving?
Beach Buoy put the dogs into the van.
A large dog squatted nearby
The owner went to clean up after it.
"Jesus!"
A man in a grey car messaged on his phone, his engine running as he did so.
They set off just as an "Almost summer's day." turned back into spring.
As he left Beach Buoy realised something.
After months and months, the mobile covid test centre had gone.
THE TWITTER POSTCARD.
Having a lovely time.
