SEATON SANDS., HARTLEPOOL, 20 FEB 2021.

Beach Buoy had gone to bed before midnight.

2-07 am awake.

2-40 am up.

Coffee made with milk.

TV

Comedian tours in camper van, or maybe not.

Comedian is filmed driving camper van, probably.

Fast forward to 7-12 am.

Beach Buoy parked the van.

Stubborn Dog wouldn't move.

Beach Buoy carried his mate to the beach.

Stubborn Dog wouldn't walk.

Beach Buoy carried him a while.

There was a mild breeze from the south.

It was a stoney walk to the strand line, as so much soft sand had been blown away by recent strong winds.

They headed south.

Some beach regulars were heading north.

One of them, the owner of a dog named Chocolate Pudding by Beach Buoy gave Beach Buoy a distant wave.

Beach Buoy gave a mirrored distant wave back.

The tide was a fair way in.

It was mild, no gloves or hoods up today.

The sea was rippled.

The waves broke gently once they were close to shore.

The bay was full of pale blues and greys.

Stubborn Dog was being stubborn...... again.

It was a bit of a milky morning.

They stacked the stack and enjoyed the view.

They continued south a while.

Beach Buoy stopped to photograph the dunes.

The milky sun had turned to cream.

A more colourful sun, combined with the wind on the dune grass  reminded Beach Buoy of an Eva Cassidy called Fields of Gold.

As if on cue, a Skylark burst into song.

It was the first Skylark of the year.

Beach Buoy was as happy to see the first Skylark as he would be sad to see the last one go.

Beach Buoy managed to capture the bird in flight before it soared up into the Sky.

It was then, when Beach Buoy remembered that Eva Cassidy's album was called Songbird.

The sun was still low in the sky, casting long shadows.

The dog that wouldn't head south now didn't want to head north.

 A pair of trunks...

They headed north eventually.

A camera shy Seal fished just offshore.

As for the photograph below, maybe Beach Buoy needs to set the scene?

There is a dog and a jogger in the distance by the water's edge.

There is a man stood to their right closer to from where the photograph was taken...

All three were heading south as Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog ambled their way back to the north.

The Jogger overtook the other man but his dog was way back to the north.

Just as the Jogger passed the man, he looked back to the man and his (The Joggers.) dog in the distance shouting his dog's name twice to encourage him to follow.

The thing is the dog's name was Romeo.

So.... from the other man's point of view a Jogger runs by, turns and shouts Romeo, Romeo at you...

The look on his face was a picture.

Maybe he was expecting the

"Wherefore art thou?" to follow?

Four carries.

A best-of-three tug of war competitions and Stubborn Dog stops as if to say

"What?"

The  Creamy Sun lit up the water's edge beautifully.

They continued north.

Then it was the stoney walk back to the van.

The sand will return.

It always does.

Beach Buoy sipped his coffee in the van as the

Promenade People passed by.
