As Beach Buoy left work at 3 pm, a cloud hung in the sky over the River Tees near the Transporter Bridge.
The cloud was in the shape of a 3.
Time cloud.....
As he drove to Seaton Carew, he noticed how high the tide was in Greatham Creek.
Beach Buoy collected Stubborn Dog before heading for the beach and the freedom it offered them both.
Seabirds squatted randomly in the vast car park like rocks spat onto a beach by an angry sea.
They headed for the water's edge.
It looked like a Bay of two differing halves.
The North had dark grey clouds of threat.
The South looked bright and snowy.
Both were breezy.
Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog walked South, with the sea to their left.
Their sunshine shadows frolicked in the waves as they broke; Shadow Surfers.
Beach Buoy hoped that they had brought shadow towels in their shadow van.
Up in the nearby dunes, any delves in the sand were home to dustings of snow.
Hidden from any heat a winter sun might provide and chilled by the cold wind off the nearby sea.
They passed that wooden post with a child's hat plonked on top.
From a distance it really did look like an abandoned child.
Today the "child" was left a glove; a right glove.
Today the "child" was left a right glove....
Beach Buoy pulled up two hoods as the cold began to bite as they headed to the stack.
He could see a young couple ahead, down below the stack.
They began to head North as Beach Buoy and his mate continued South.
The young couple were soon replaced by an older version of themselves as an older couple walked towards the stack area.
Beach Buoy climbed the dunes and admired the view and the very freshest of airs.
They stacked the stack.
It was 4-25 pm and still light, very light!
THANK GOODNESS!
The older couple had already started to head back to the North, perhaps to catch their young selves and give some life-changing advice?
Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog headed back slowly, with their sunshine shadows complaining about how cold it was once you were wet.
A Jogger jogged by.
It looked like he had left a coat hanger in his track suit top.
He stopped jogging and became a walker with a coat hanger in his top.
The sun bade the day farewell in the most beautiful of ways.
The Sun finally set at 5-02pm
Beach Buoy sat and watched it head for Australia as he sipped hot coffee in the van.
BEACH BOUY.
