SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL. 24 FEB. 2021.

It was Wednesday.

It was February.

Beach Buoy had a go at writing a short play for TV many many years ago.

The TV  company sent it to someone to review.

They said that it was

"Duller then a Wet Wednesday in February.

It was dry today.

It was calm.

It was mild.

There was no wind on the beach.

Out in the Bay, the Wind Turbines could only just be about bothered to rotate.

They headed south by the water's edge.

A small dog came over, a puppy.

It was really keen to say hello.

So much so it wouldn't go to its owners.

One of the owners came to collect the dog, apologising.

There was no need.

Beach Buoy reached into his Beach Bag and took out one of the many beach-found balls that he picks up.

He rolled it to the little dog.

"Thank You." said the owner.

"No problem."

There was a slight mist to the south, hanging around the stack and the grey rocks beyond.

Beach Buoy found a bonnie stone that was now stack-bound.

Beach Buoy paused to admire the glorious bay.

Rain seemed to be falling out at sea, to the north.

The south side seemed to have a strange light for company.

Beach Buoy, Stubborn Dog a bonnie stone and some other run-of-the-mill stones headed to the stack.

It was the usual slow walk back to follow.

A breeze picked up from the north.

Spots of the finest raindrops drifted gently in the air.

The temperature dropped slightly.

Dog walkers walked their walks and dogs.

Each with a story to tell.

Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog walked the walk.

They walked back to the van and the rest of their lives.
