SEATON SNOOKS TEA ROOM OUT AND ABOUT CARD.

A FOUND SCAFFOLDING BOARD.

BEACH BUOY.

SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL. 29, FEB, 2024.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog reached the beach at 3-50 p.m.

It was grey scene.

A slight breeze blew from the south west.

The tide was more in than it was out.
People and dogs dotted the beach ahead.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog made there way southwards.

A friendly dog came over.
"He's only come to see if you have treats, otherwise he'll have nothing to do with you.'
Laughed the owner as she passed.
Down on the dune edge a white dog and a black dog took it in turns to chase one another.

JOE AND JACOB
had written their names in the sand.

Sea pottery.
A lady in a carriage?

They saw a green Scaffolding Board near the sea...

They took the "Easy" route through the dunes to Stubborn Dog Stack.

"Afternoon Mate."
It was 4-33.
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted.
THE
stone.
He replaced some stones that someone had scattered around.
He was pleased that the wooden wedge over a metre long was still in situ.

Coffee on a wooden wedge.
A dune walker passed by in front of Stubborn Dog Stack.
"Hello there." said Beach Buoy.
Nothing...

Beach Buoy stood to go.

A couple passed behind the stack with their two small black dogs.
Beach Buoy tried once more.
"Hello there."
"Hi." the lady answered.
They were heading north.
One of the black dogs had a long white beard.
He began to walk towards Beach Buoy but had second thoughts.
"He's not very brave. Come on Ted "

Beach Buoy waited until the couple had gained some distance on the beach below.

Time to join them.

"See you mate."

Slow walk back in a narrowing beach.

The lady with a whispy dog passed by, heading south.
"Good Afternoon."
"Hello there." Beach Buoy also raised a hand for a non- distant wave.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog dawdled
In no time at all the lady with the whisky dog overtook them.
The whispy dog came to say hello.
"C'mon Scruffy."
The name fitted the dog perfectly.

CIRCULAR WALK TO STUBBORN DOG STACK. 25, FEB. 2024.

It was too nice to stop in.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed to the beach.
It was going to be a circular walk.
It's pretty much the walk that Mr Gunn / Lunn does only on reverse order.
After a short walk along Tess Road, they joined the footpath that skirts around and at one point cuts through The Golf Club.

Steel River Culew
By Artist called Steve Tomlinson.
Another Dog wasn't so sure.

Once across The Golf Club, The Blue Lagoon. a.k.a North Gare Beach canes into view with The River Tees beyond.

Distant clouds seemed to spell out
R.  O.  X.  I.

They went part-way along North Gare Pier.
The tide was high, only the very top of a single tank traps was showing.
They cut through the dunes.
The Sea Buckthorn isn't as much as a problem here as it can be to the north.

"Afternoon Mate."
Beach Buoy patted
THE
stone.
He added some more.
It was 4-13.
Beach Buoy sat on the wooden wedge over a metre long.
He drank coffee.

The Sun was behind them.
Another Dog sat near by as Beach Buoy's sunshine shadow sat like a ghost looking out to sea.
They watched the royal blue sea hit the dull grey rocks.
A strong but invigorating breeze blew off the sea.

Eventually...
"See you mate."

A wander through the dunes and back to the beach it was.

It was a slow walk back.
Slow walk backs are even sweeter when you recall all the times in your life that you had to dash.

Pause.
Breathe.

BEACH BUOY.

MIDDLETON BY BIKE. 25, FEB. 2024.

It was a lovely morning.
Too nice not to go back out.
Beach Buoy set off for Middleton on his bike.

North along The Esplanade, to Middleton, his childhood beach.

Middleton Pier, once seen in an episode of Vera.
Beach Buoy wandered along the beach.
He chatted to a couple.
The lady was collecting sea glass.

Beach Buoy headed back north along a beach full of memories.

He cycled back to Sunny Seaton Carew.

BEACH BUOY.

SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL. 25, FEB. 2024.

It was around 1 a.m. when Beach Buoy went to bed.

He woke at 5-19.

It still felt like a sleep in as during the week his work alarm sounds at 5-10.

He made a milky coffee before faffing with the blog.

First Gull called heard at 6-05 a.m.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog walked to the beach.
It was frosty.
Overhead, Gulls headed inland, leaving the sea behind.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog reached a frosty beach at 6-55 a.m.
Down at the water's edge a couple walked and talked.
One stretched out their arms as if balanced on a tightrope as they told their story.

The tide was heading out .
The air was cold.
There was a slight breeze from the west.

The Moon still hung near to the Art Deco Clock Tower.

Footprints on frosty seacoal.

The Sun rose out at Sea.
It was the first time this year.
For months it rises over land.
It's always a sign of lighter nights, longer days.
Beach Buoy raised his arms and said "Yippee!"

The sunrise.

Beach Buoy savoured the scene.
A Cold Sun can still warm the soul.

A walk by the sea.

The man with a white dog with one black ear passed by.
The men shared distant waves.

Thud. Thud. Thud.
A teenager ran by, kicking a football as he did so.

Beach Buoy imagined a game of ten pots in.

"Goal !"

Beach Buoy found a wooden wedge over a metre long.
He picked it up.

They headed to Stubborn Dog Stack.

Beach Buoy added some stones and the driftwood wedge.
He patted
THE
 stone.
"Morning Mate."
It was 7-29.

Beach Buoy sat on the wooden wedge to drink coffee.

Another Dog was on lookout duty.

Beach Buoy wrote on the new seat.
"See you mate."
They headed back to the beach.

SATURDAY AFTERNOON, 24, FEB. 2024. SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog reached the beach at 4-11 p.m.
It was sunny with a light breeze.
The tide looked to be well in.
It was a busy beach.
Families and dogs.
Teenagers up in the dunes.

Beach Buoy switched to auto-pilot, south.

Tide not long turned from high.
They headed to Stubborn Dog Stack.

"Afternoon Mate."
It was 4-44.
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
He drank coffee.

Slow walk back.

It was a quieter scene now.
