Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed for the beach on foot at 4-18 p.m.
The sunny but chilled air was filled with relieved birdsong.
Only an hour earlier Beach Buoy had arrived back in Seaton Carew from work.
It was a drive into heavy snowfall.
The snowfall had passed.
None had laid in Seaton Carew.
99 Starlings pecked at the grass on the site of the old putting green.
They headed to the sea.
A family looked out into the bay.
A lady with a friendly brown dog passed by as she headed north.
They chatted briefly about the snow that came and went.
It was like a different season to earlier.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed south.
Pebbles with legs did what they do, running in and out with the sea's movement.
They looked whiter than snowballs in the unexpected sunshine.
A Crow.
The nightclub bouncers of the beach.
Driftwood.
What would the artist see?
What do you see?
Beach Buoy sees a Rabbit holding a paw up to its ear as if saying "Pardon?"
It was almost high tide.
There a narrow gap to reach Stubborn Dog Stack.
It was a bit of a gamble.
A wet foot gamble, not a RNLI gamble.
They walked to a small sandy ledge.
The sea rushed in.
Beach Buoy looked around to see how wet Another Dog was.
She was as dry as a bone, stuck half way up the dune edge like a limpet on rock.
Beach Buoy peeled Another Dog from the dune edge
They carried onto The Sandy Slope.
"Afternoon Mate."
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
He drank coffee.
He watched as the tide peaked.
It began to work it's way back out.
It was lovely having the sun shining.
They felt the heat.
"Hiya."
"Hiya."
The lady with the Timid Border Collie was passing through the dunes as she headed back to the village.
Just the sound of nature returned.
It had been a strange week.
Beach Buoy mulled it over.
"See you mate."
They headed back.
They headed back.
There was a lady in the dunes with a small dog and big pointy hat as big and as pointy as a wizard's.
A couple sat up on the dune edge as if it was a summer afternoon.
They were dressed for winter.
Beach Buoy rested on the Promenade wall.
He watched as other traded places with one another.
BEACH BUOY.
