Sunday 20 February 2022

SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL, 20,FEB 2022.

Beach Buoy had gone to bed around 10 p.m.
He woke at 11-20 expecting it to be around 3.
He woke at 1-30 expecting it to be later...
Pan of milk on.
First of many coffees.
Beach Buoy added words to yesterday's blog.
He put a channel on YouTube that helped him through long sleepless nights last year, when he was stuck in for weeks on end.
He alternated between writing and watching the channel, pausing every now and then to listen to the rain lashing down onto the roof.
The writing and rain stopped around 4 a.m.
It was then that the wind began to pick up.
Beach Buoy made the latest in a long line of coffees.
He looked out of a window.
Clouds were rushing towards the sea.
They would follow soon, as soon as the light was to Beach Buoy's liking.
Beach Buoy painted a stone for
Stubborn Dog Stack, asking the finder if they were the type to add a stone or one who would take delight in throwing stones away from the stack?
Some do.

Beach Buoy made flasks of coffee.
Beach Buoy checked the local hourly weather.
Thankfully the least chance of a soaking tied in with their visit to the beach today.
They set off.

Beach Buoy thought he was being clever by reversing into their chosen parking bay.
He wasn't.
He hadn't noticed that the wind had turned slightly.
The side door of the van was opened blankets and a Beach Buoy flapped.
Eventually hat and coats were on.
Another Dog was ready.
A beach bag was thrown over a shoulder.
They were off...
It was around 7 a.m.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed for the strand-line.
The 7 a.m. club were just heading north.
Distant waves took place.
Not so distant sniffing ensued.
(By the Dogs.)
😬

Beach Buoy collected stones for
Stubborn Dog Stack
as he and Another Dog headed to the dunes.

"Morning Mate."
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
He added beach stones to his mate's stack, before reaching into a coat pocket for the painted one.
He gave Another Dog a small treat before having a sip of hot coffee.

The view from the stack was lovely.
The beach looked deserted now.
Perfect.
"See you mate."
They headed back to the beach.

The wind blew the tops of any wave that dared to rise.

The Sun tried to make a showing.
The light was pale.
It cast the faintest of sunlight shadows onto the beach ahead of them as they returned to the north.

As they continued north, the wind speed increased.
Beach Buoy scooped up Another Dog, to protect the little dog from a face full of shifting sand as it made its way out to sea.

Maybe the cloud over the village was the reason for the increase in the wind?
Mr Gunn/Nunn was just setting off.
They paused.
They chatted.
"Bye."
"Bye."
The returned to the van.
Coffee.
Later Beach Buoy recorded some recent
Bits and bobs..

 BEACH BUOY.
